I'll just throw my opinion into the fray. Why not?

Alien Anthology [Blu-ray]
The first Alien movie is such a must-get it isn't even funny. I'm a bit hesitant on whether the whole series is really worth picking up as they get worse as they go along. I'll probably end up pulling the trigger. Because I be stupid. But I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you haven't seen the movies already and know you like them.

District 9 [Blu-ray]
Such a good movie its ridiculous. Really takes a creative and neat approach to the whole "aliens" issue. Does a beautiful job setting up the scenario in documentary style before really giving the aliens a personality and making a hero out of a suit-and-tie kind of man.

Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy [Blu-ray]
Skip it and just get the first one. That is the only one that matters.

Grindhouse (Special Edition) [Blu-ray]
This is tops on my "want to get asap" list. I was in the theater opening night for the full presentation and it blew. my. mind.

Hellraiser [Blu-ray]
I really enjoyed this one a lot. Its kinda campy, but has some really scary moments and great characters. Plus, it is hard to go wrong a movie with a man with pins in his head. (Incidentally, the edition I have packages both this movie and Children of the Corn together in one cheap pack. I'd recommend that.)

9 [Blu-ray]
I enjoy this more for what I hope it influences future animated features to be (darker, somberer affairs) than for what this actually accomplishes. Its alright, but definitely not one I'd recommend picking up except on the cheap.

There Will Be Blood [Blu-ray]
This is one of those great character profiles that really shows off two characters really marvelously. Even the side characters are individual and rather splendid. Mix that with really stark visuals and the movie is a win.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus [Blu-ray]
I loved this. Terry Gilliam can do no wrong.

Pinocchio (Two-Disc 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition + Standard DVD+ BD Live) [Blu-ray]
You know what this is. And these old Disney titles look absolutely gorgeous. Might as well pick it up now before it goes back into the vault.

Paprika [Blu-ray]
The director of this, Satoshi Kon, died just last week. One of the sadder "celebrity" deaths I've experienced since Johnny Cash. This is probably my least favorite work from him, but as it is the only one available on Blu Ray I really have to recommend it. It is very surreal and the plot really twists and turns to an extent you may or may not know what is going on. But visually spectacular with neat characters to boot.

The Boondock Saints [Blu-ray]
I found this surprisingly good, but it isn't as quality as a lot of the other titles on this list. I'd say give it a pass, unless you really find it for cheap.

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button: The Criterion Collection [Blu-ray]
If you like quality movies with amazing releases, this is a must-get. Criterion is the best in the business at giving you your monies worth and this release is no different.

Trick 'r Treat [Blu-ray]
I found this surprisingly good. It is sort of an anthology of stories... but the stories mix together to a certain extent to give the movie some continuity. Really entertaining and captures the Halloween spirit well.

Ponyo (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo)
This movie is absolutely GORGEOUS. Some of the best animation I've seen on the big screen or on blu ray. While the story is a bit "kiddier" than some Studio Ghibli stuff, the film is a lot of fun. I find I enjoy it more every time I see it.

Kill Bill - Volumes 1 & 2 [Blu-ray] (Amazon.com Exclusive)
It's Tarantino. I think he can do no wrong... though I know a lot of people who hate him with a passion. So YMMV.

The Fountain [Blu-ray]
This gets good reviews, but I personally found it pretty awkward and disappointing in the end. But I guess there is a whole world out there who disagrees with me.

The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (Theatrical Editions + Digital Copy) [Blu-ray]
If you have to get LotRs at some point, wait for the extended versions. I personally hate the series, but recognize that the theatrical editions are far inferior.

Blood: The Last Vampire [Blu-ray]
See the full-length Blood+ series, but this 40-odd minute OAV doesn't have a great plot and all but no character development. Not recommended.

Blade Runner (Five-Disc Complete Collector's Edition) [Blu-ray]
Yes. Yes. And again yes. Great movie with a great release.

The Mist (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) [Blu-ray]
One of my favorites. This is especially a great release because it includes the B&W version which is much better.

The Shining [Blu-ray]
Classic Kubrick. A very influential film.

A Clockwork Orange [Blu-ray]
More classic Kubrick. Not a movie for the faint of heart due to a lot of the violence, but it is stylistically amazing with an interesting lead.

The Princess Bride (Blu-ray + DVD Combo)
One of the funniest, coolest, multi-genre movies ever? Yes.

Seven Samurai (The Criterion Collection) [Blu-ray]
I don't have this one yet, but in my mind I'd get pretty much anything Criterion before anything else. I love Criterion. Quality releases which always look amazing.

Seven [Blu-ray]
Great script and one of the best endings of a crime movie ever.
