PS3 outsells the Wii for the first time in Japan

And chances are that the only reason the PS3 beat it in Japan is because more people couldn't find the Wii over there, either.

But as someone else said, I don't see the Wii as being in direct competition. When people (kids) are ready for high-def gaming (and movie watching), they'll have to upgrade to the PS3 or that other, uh, console thing. And with so many PS2s out there, the natural progression when people are ready to go high-def, will be to trade up from the PS2 to the PS3.
