I own the PS3, and while I wish the resume would survive a power off, now that I know it doesn't, it isn't that tough to make a mental note of where I left off.
My question is, what is preventing BD-J from bookmarking the resume point? Is there something in the spec that prevents it, or has it just not been written yet? I'm not sure I entirely agree with the OP, as has been pointed out, 2G and up players will not suffer the long load times, and I'd rather see the studios get more comfortable using Java so we can see more interesting uses of it down the road. What ticked me off about PoTC and DMC was that the buttons on the controller didn't function as they had previously. That is the type of thing I think the studios should be fixing now, so in 2 years users will get a consistent experience across disks, BD-J or not. |
