Default It happened

I watched the regular DVD versions of "Hot Rod," "Paris, Je T'aime" and "Oceans 12" this week, and... they all looked like absolute crap! I have gotten so used to the glorious look of Blu-Ray on my 61" Samsung DLP LED HDTV that I fear I won't be able to watch a regular DVD again.

My girlfriend noticed it too. She said "Wow... these regular DVDs look so grainy compared to Blu-Ray discs." Ouch! Can you blame her? Even upconverted, it's just not the same.

We popped in the Blu-Ray version of "Bad Santa" and instantly felt better with the picture quality, the audio, and the damn great movie! (Check it out if you haven't seen it. HILARIOUS!! Co-written and produced by The Coen Brothers.)

I have mixed feelings about the revelation. Part of me is sad because most of my library will now look like crud. Part of me is happy because my love for Blu-Ray has grown stronger than ever before.

For a year, I have been buying/renting standard DVDs alongside of Blu-Ray's, but now... I don't think I can ever go back.

A moment of silence... for my expansive SD DVD library...

I DO BLU! DO YOU?
Blu-Blood for life!!
