I would never down anyone for having a big collection. I, myself have over 1,000 dvd's. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Some might see my collection and think I have TON'S of trash, but to me, it's ALL good. Well, most of it anyway, LOL.
I plan on making ALL my future purchases a BLU one. Unless I find a cheap film for a cheap price. But I'm hooked on Blu now and can't see myself watching such a lower quality on my new HDTV. Wow, HD really shows all the flaws of DVD, doesn't it? However.... SOME of my DVD's look really awesome on my HDTV, while others look like worn-out VHS tapes. YUK. I wonder why some are like that? |

When i first started collecting blu's i only had a few but once they started to drop the price to 7.99-12.99 that was it now i just cant stop passing up these deals but i do only buy movies that i enjoy and the blu's that i think are worth the upgrade from my dvd collection. To me i dont think it's necessary to buy every collector's set out there or special edition blu but there are alot of people on this site that do have very impresive collections and is enjoyable to view. Thanks to black friday sales i was able to add 52 new movies to my collection so 300 here i come.So happy collecting and enjoy

Hrm, I got started in February 2009 when Circuit City was having their OOB sale. My wife grabbed Die Hard on BD because most of the good stuff was already picked over. We didn't have a player yet, but rectified that quickly enough.
I'll most certainly hit 100 sometime next year. Star Wars or Jurassic Park would be a nice celebration. |

Great idea for a thread - dang, I missed this club by only a few months... 3 months ago, at the beginning of September, I owned about 75 Blu's, but already, just 3 months later, I'm at all but 250 - just as soon as all my Amazon BF week and my DVD2BLU.com purchases arrive in my mailbox... 59 more titles to add! Plus, it doesn't help that there is both a Best Buy and an Ultimate Electronics right across the street from my office, both with excellent selections of bargain blu's right at my fingertips...
![]() So let that be a warning to you guys - Blueray, err, Blu-ray collecting is very addicting, lol! ![]() ![]() Last edited by FREYMAX 3D; 12-01-2010 at 05:56 PM. |

At the rate I buy movies, I can easily commit to a one year membership in the Under 100 Club!
Unless it's a film I love and I know I'll watch over and over again, or such a great deal I can't pass it up, I rarely buy these days like I did with DVDs. And every once in a while, that perfect storm of "movie I love" collides with "deal I can't pass up", and... WHAM! Movie purchase magic! (see "Back to the Future" Cyber Monday deal at amazon.com for reference) |

Wow! Where does this place me? On the edge?
![]() I am pretty sure my wife is getting me a few Blus for XMas, but there a few I am planning on getting rid of soon as well (and no, not the Immortal)... Regardless, awesome thread idea... wish it was up a few months ago... |
