I bought 4 movies from them this year but, if someone had only bought one would they go after the price of another blu as the member hadn't fulfilled their commitment? Not sure what else there would be to collect as all purchases are taken off the credit card right away.

I feel for the 44 people affected, especially (if they are) SavvyGuy and LuckyGold. Hopefully, one of them will check in soon...
Hey to all the Forum Followers - yes it is true - the end has come and not such a big surprise - everyone was "released" as of Dec 9th and all you'll get now when you go to any of the sites is a message saying we've closed. LuckyGold and I will be fine as we are both survivors. Everyone in this forum has been great to deal with and who knows when our paths will cross again. Happy Holidays to all!!

Had no idea about this until I visited this forum. Too bad for all involved.

As for Amazon.com, parity is good, but the shipping and import fees pretty much kill all deals.

If you can keep the individual shipments under $20 then there is no import deposit fee. Also if you do an order that is spread out over many weeks of shipments then you get the $5 part of the initial shipping fee (Min fee is $8 of which $5 is fixed and $3 is for the shipping of the 1st item) spread over the whole order. So you order 5 items you pay 8+3+3+3+3. They take the $20 total and divide it by the items so each one ships with a fee of $4. You could likely cancel future pre-orders after earlier ones ship and they would not be able to charge you the part of the initial $5 that was associated with those orders.

So you can get shipping to $3-$4 per item and if you're ordering items under $20 per shipment then you can get away without the import fee.

It takes a little more work than before but it can be done. One thing to note is that the import fee is basically the taxes and you would have to pay those in a store in Canada anyway so it's really the price + $3-4 that you need to compare vs local pricing and a lot of time you're still ahead and you don't have to drive all over the place.
