I just looked up what Wingman1977 was saying about the Pioneer Elite and I guess it isn't sold anymore..what a shame. My uncle has one and it's absolutely phenomenal.
I'll probably go with a Panasonic plasma when the time comes. Even when I get a new TV, I won't be going to 3D. I honestly see it as a waste of money. I prefer 2D and I'm going to look for the best Panasonic 1080P plasma that's available within in my price range and if it happens to be a 3D tv, then whatever, but I definitely won't use the 3D.
From what I understand, Pioneer got out of the plasma business (if anyone here knows, feel free to inform me) and Panasonic is using Pioneer's plasma technology. That's why their plasmas have gotten so real good now. Again, if anyone has the exact specifics, please chime in.
