Well I just know if there's an SEC team in the National title game again next year I probably won't watch it.

Ya, but we're talking cable. Several past championship games easily topped that viewership number.

Going into the 2011 college football season I'm not sure there are and heavy favorites to run the table. I'm sure Alabama will have a top-tier team yet again, even with the loss of McElroy and Ingram. I'd expect Florida to take another year or two to get back tothe top of the pack. Auburn has a lot of seniors and Newton will be gone, so they'll probably go back to being a 3-5 loss team. Arkansas loses their star QB Mallett. I guess Alabama and LSU will be the preseason favorites in the SEC in 2011.

Michigan has hired San Diego State coach Brady Hoke as their coach. Hoke is without a doubt their fallback option after Jim Harbaugh declined to interview and Les Miles chose to stay at LSU. Hoke has done a great job resurrecting Ball State (which fell apart immediately after he left) and San Diego State. It will be interesting what Denard Robinson does. Hoke runs a pro style offense so Robinson could choose to leave, but Hoke would almost certainly change his offense to fit Robinson's strengths.

Nothing like being third choice, and still accepting a job with open arms.

Bama will go as far as McCarron can take them

Arkansas had its up year and didn't deliver I expect them to fall back to the middle of the pack.

Florida I'm sure will have growing pains with all the change going on their.

Auburn... Well we'll see what kind of coach gene chizik is, but again step back their.

Come on, he is the coach of San Diego State after all. He would be crazy not to accept the opportunity of a lifetime to coach such an illustrious program. I just can't believe that Michigan would hire a guy who's from Ohio. I thought that was considered a sacrilege in the eyes of the Wolverine faithful.

First thing he needs to do is recruit defense and get some quality defensive coaches. If Michigan had a decent defense, Rodriguez would still be there. Offense wasn't the problem.

Maybe the problem is that there just aren't the recruits there used to be locally in Michigan, with few from outside the state wanting to go there. When the 2010 census figures came out last month Michigan is the only state in the nation that actually declined in population (-.6%) for the decade. It's once great cities like Detroit and Flint have completely collapsed, with unemployment over 40% in some places. There we actually homes for sale in Flint, MI on Ebay a few years back for less than the price of a used car. I have to believe the serious decline of that state has an effect on the colleges. Just a theory I have at least.

Hoke may be from Ohio, but he was an asst. coach at UM from 95-02.

Hey toxsic. You're an Auburn fan so maybe you can fill me in. How many starters are they going to lose going into next season? I believe they have some major losses, in addition to Cam Newton, wh i doubt will return for another year.

Not an Auburn fan but off the top of my head they're losing Jeff Maehl, Demond Washington (great db), Lutzenkirchen, both punter and kicker, Fairley will probably leave early.

Lot of the Oline guys, they've been together for awhile.

Ok, found a decent ESPN article giving an early 2011 team ranking. They have Auburn #17 under the assumption Newton leaves.

2. Alabama
3. Oregon
4. LSU

And congrats to my own school for the best year in school history. UCF finished 11-3 at #20 in the final Coach's poll, #21 in the AP poll and won their conference and the Liberty Bowl.

Also, congrats to coach O'Leary for earning $400,000 in bonuses thanks to the football team hitting nearly all of his incentives this past season.

UCF coach George O'Leary earned about $400,000 in bonuses following the best football season in school history, according to the latest version of his contract obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.

O'Leary's contract has a variety of incentives to reward him for the team's success.

UCF beat Georgia 10-6 in the Liberty Bowl Dec. 31, claiming the first bowl win in school history. The Knights ended the 2010 season ranked in the Top 25 and racked up 11 wins, both firsts for the program. UCF won a Conference USA championship and O'Leary was named Conference USA coach of the year.

Great season for UCF - that's very cool. Here's to a great basketball season, too!

I hated UGA losing in a bowl game, but losing to the feel-good UCF team was easier to swallow.

All good points. Of all the teams that will experience turmoil in some form or antoher in the SEC this off-season, it could very well be South Carolina that rises up and wins the conference.

Bo Schembechler was from Ohio and twice was an Ohio State assistant before coming to Michigan.

Though it would be amusing looking at the 2010 preseason AP poll to see where they finished. Texas and Florida were the biggest duds. Auburn was only 22nd preseason.

1 Alabama 10th
2 Ohio State 5th
3 Boise State 9th
4 Florida Unranked
5 Texas Unranked
6 TCU 2nd
7 Oklahoma 6th
8 Nebraska 20th
9 Iowa Unranked
10 Virginia Tech 16th
11 Oregon 3rd
12 Wisconsin 7th
13 Miami (FL) Unranked
14 USC Unranked
15 Pittsburgh Unranked
16 Georgia Tech Unranked
17 Arkansas 12th
18 North Carolina Unranked
19 Penn State Unranked
20 Florida State 17th
21 LSU 8th
22 Auburn 1st
23 Georgia Unranked
24 Oregon State Unranked
25 West Virginia Unranked

Teams who finished the year ranked, but were unranked preseason:

4. Stanford - The biggest surprise of the preseason unranked teams
11. Nevada
13. Oklahoma St.
14. Michigan St.
15. Mississippi St.
18. Missouri
19. Texas A&M
21. UCF - My school was only believed to be a 6-6 type of team this year but finished 11-3 behind star freshman QB Godfrey
22. South Carolina
23. Maryland
24. Tulsa
25. North Carolina St.
