Not to mention in "fullscreen" format instead of OAR, and mostly in stereo rather than 5.1

there is NO such thing as a v1.4 cable.

Its all marketting gimmick, which you did not read in the last 1000+ posts.

HDMI versions are directly related to the HDMI transmitter/receiver chip used inside each device. Has absolutely nothing to do with the cable.

HDMI cables are rated as "Standard" and "High Speed" (may also contain an ethernet channel but is irrelevant)

AQ & PQ will be identical if the cables are doing their job properly.

Exactly bro! Keep em straight Crackin! I've been telling everyone about monoprice and even ordering them cables like crazy lately. Not one single complaint about the cables having ANY issues yet.

I have bought most of my HDMI cables and other accessaries from Monoprice and have not had any issues at all thanks in part to this forum as well as made suggestions to other people to do the same. Being that i am in the Portland Oregon area i have found a place that sells great cables and accessaries at the Monoprice level and it is just few miles from my work. They take walk in bussiness as well as interent orders. The company name is PCH Cables and the website is http://www.pchcables.com. If this has been listed before i appologize but if not take a look and decide for yourself. It is just another source for everyone to use so they dont get bent over at those big box stores.

Hey guys, got a question. I have really expensive Monster Cables and when I first put them in, I noticed there were white sparkles on my screen. Is that normal? I also just bought some Monoprice cables to see if that helps. I know I probably should have went with Monoprice from the beginning, but I was a sucker and went with Monster.

Monoprice junk???

considering the fact that their cable(s) performance is really good, I highly doubt that.

Monoprice is certainly not junk.

For price and performance, monoprice is the BEST value out there.

I recently bought a Sony HT SS370, I noticed in some blu-rays I've played their is a sync issue. The Picture is ahead of the audio. I have cheap 1.3 hdmi cables. Should I upgrade to 1.4, or should I adjust the settings.

It's a faulty HDMI cable, if it's still under warranty then take it back where you got it and get a new one for free. Other wise go to http://www.bluejeanscable.com/ or http://www.monoprice.com/home/index.asp to get your HDMI cables.

All HDMI cables 12 feet and under in length perform exactly the same.

I have just spent $18 on one 2.5ft cable @ Targey! I always knew to get it online, but I was running out of options! I didn't expect to get the TV that day.

I'm not a "premium cable cheerleader" but this is a highly innacurate statement.

So even when I initially put it in and it sparkled, it's faulty?? Also, as I mentioned, I purchased 5 HDMI cables from Monoprice to test between Monster and them

Can you provide a credible source to back up your claim with independent testing results and sources and not marketing claims? I made my claim based on the information from my own eyes with cables I have owned but more importantly by researching different electronic websites such as cnet.com, Sound&Vision and many others which uses monoprice HDMI cables for all their testing and they have never noticed any differences between a $3 dollar cable and a $300 dollar cable. Which HDMI cables have been proven to provide better PQ and where were they made?

http://reviews.cnet.com/hdmi-guide/

http://consumerist.com/2008/03/cnet-...icey-ones.html

Bluejeans cable uses the Belden bonded pair cable which is a industry standard used by the broadcast industry and is quite affordable, only a few dollars more than Monoprice. Comcast cable company uses cheap Chinese made Copartner HDMI cables which are broadcast industry standard as well and cost as much as Monoprice's does. It's a good chance the more expensive HDMI cables people buy are Chinese made and made by Copartner which is the largest cable maker in the world.

The only time when one should consider a more expensive cable is for very long distance runs and the Bluejeans Belden Series 1 was able to break a record by passing a 1080p/60 signal through a 100 foot HDMI cable uninterupted and it's a very affordable economy wire.

http://www.audioholics.com/news/indu...er-hdmi-record

This whole topic has been discussed millions of times all over the internet. The engineers and Home Theater enthusiats over at http://www.avsforum.com have done many back to back tests with HDMI cables and couldn't tell a difference and use Monoprice and Bluejeans in their high end home theaters.

You have a bad HDMI cable, there is something wrong with it, it shouldn't be making the picture on your tv sparkle.

I don't know that I would designate the cable as the culprit just yet...sparklies might also mean the signal just is not getting there, as example a long hdmi cable run, or a weak hdmi transmitter.

My question to PUsokerJosh, how long are the cables? do all cables act same way? are the cables "coiled" or straight as can be? does it happen for every component, or specific devices? have you tried different hdmi connections? Loose connections? try removing certain devices from the chain, such as running bluray player directly to the TV, bypassing a receiver?

...too many variables to automatically say its a cable...but in my opinion, I would hope its the cable as its probably the cheaper fix.
