Those Danish sure know how to make speakers.
yes they do!!!

i tell you the ikon 5 or 6 towers dont compare to the ikon 7's. bigger woofers, more woofers, just amazing sound!!

like i said if i cant get the $$ for my dali's than i will just keep them.

I understand but the Actual Overall SQ and not talking output and to talk about the detail, imaging, transiant and everything else, This is why I said the Dynaudio are not much of a downgrade, the X16 will never ever have the Output of the Ikon 7 but everything else will be equally as good if not better.

I just know what kind of sound the Ikon and X32 has now I know with a great fact of certainty the Ikon 7 do blow the 5 out of the water

Received a pair of Walnut-veneered Confidence C1s yesterday as an upgrade over Audience 42s. Bought them in a moment of madness, but the price (3200€ for a lightly used store demo + Stand2s) was such that I could not pass it up despite the purchase messing up my finances totally

I was afraid my lil' Audio Analogue Puccini might have problems driving them, by no signs of that so far! The combo kicks some serious butt Not much need for a sub either, in my small room the C1s go solidly to 30Hz.

Those are really nice speakers you got there, I wish i had the money to afford the Focus 140 or Totem Model One, I'm happy with what I got but those 2 I mentioned are just above and beyond my current speakers, next my list is a new receiver that I will use in 2 channel also, Arcam most likely.

The way I figure, step by step upgrades just end up draining money in the long run, so when I spotted this deal I decided to go straight for the "endgame". They've been my dream speaker for the last six years ever since I heard them at a HIFI show.

Now I'm having serious problems arranging my room to make the best of the speakers, but it's not easy given my listening position is at my computer desk and there's also the monitor messing with the stereo imaging.

"Endgame". I'm somewhat shooting for that myself. However it probably will never truly end. I think though for 2 channel speakers I found an end with the Sapphires I just got. Congrats on the walnut C1's. I saw pictures of them on avs dyn forum. Not a fan of brownish speakers but I do like the walnut c1's a lot. You just don't see that kind've finish on speakers. Enjoy!

Yes this is true! Little do many people know that early Snells (to include my own) have Danish drivers! As a matter of fact, a Danish company is now offering replacement woofers for the Snell E's - you have to go to http://www.snell.no to find out how.

Dynaudio use to make drivers for other companies. They stopped that. However the companies they did make them for previously they still offer replacement drivers I believe.

Not exactly right they still supply drivers to Totem for as long that Totem will continue to make Models using Dyn drivers, I believe it's the only manufacturer that has this agreement, but as you can see now Totem has started to make their own drivers for any new stuff they put on the market since Dynaudio did put a stop to it as you mentinned Sean, Tribes and Element line have Totem drivers. Now only 3 speaker from Totem use Modified Dyn Drivers, The Model One Sig, the Mani 2 and the Wind. Forest uses a Dyn alike ATI driver that also has a 3 inch voice coil.

So when Totem stops making those 3 Dyn will no longer supply Totem. I was told by a Dyn dealer. He knew exactly what the agreement Dynaudio has with them.
