Bump... I'd appreciate some of you opinions before these speakers slip away. Thanks.

Can be had here for a pretty decent price. Should I consider another line?
I have Monitor 9s, don't know the version though, but they are at least 10 yrs old and they are still going strong. You can't go wrong with what your looking at. They make an excellent product overall.

Gonna get a gallery going, but for now, finally some pics of the Paradigm stuff... Love rosenut!
Here are some pics of my paradigm stuff, the overall pics get washed out by the windows, sorry they suck. The others turned out ok.

This one is funny, still packing dust all over the grill logo...

It depends on what you mean by big step up. By their design, being bass reflex ported, the DSP3400 has immense output, and the DS3200 is no slouch. The Sub12 is completely different. Not only does it have good output, but it is also very quick and articulate. But my concern is that you may be used to the output over quality of bass.

If you have read through the thread you will have noticed that I have upgraded from my Sub12 to a Sub15 because I felt that because of the size of my room, the Sub12 was not enough, and I upgraded to the Sub15 with handles it much more approriately.

So to upgrade from the 3400 alone, to a Sub12, to me it would have to be for the quality of the bass, and not to expect a change in output. And to be using both the DSP3200 along with the 3400, in my reasonably professional opinion, it would be a drop in output, and a very nice improvement in quality.

Looking at your room, the Sub12 will probably have no problems, but if you want to maintain the o/p of the dual subs, while improving the quality, I would consider the Sub15 as well.

I would love to have some thoughts regarding Paradigm vs SpeakerCraft

I have in-ceiling speakers, don't want to but for my situation that is what it has to be.

I have SpeakerCraft AIM8 Fives in the ceiling.
http://www.speakercraft.com/products...category_id=40

I have been thinking about the Paradigm SIG 1.5R-30s
http://www.paradigm.com/products/par...es/sig-1-5r-30

I have never heard the SIG Paradigms only the base models which sounded pretty good.

Have any of you heard the SpeakerCraft AIMs and is able to give your thoughts whether or not the audio differences is warrant the cost to change out?

Crossed my 100's over at 100, then 150hz, and it's a nice improvement.
Guess with a purpose built, 1700w sealed, high excursion sub, better bass around 150 hz than 3 small, low excursion drivers in a ported alignment with only 300w should not really be a surprise.
Movies I haven't noticed much, but for music, music to my ears.
It really makes me think that for the same amount of money, Studio 60's with dual sub 15's are likely a better value. Assuming the 15 is just as accurate up around the 200hz range, and given it's larger displacement, the 60/15's combo would for sure have an advantage for HT.

Something does not see right at all with those settings. My 100s can easily handle the bass from 60hz and up, and I cross my 100s and cc690 at 70hz. As I approach 100hz, the bass becomes too localized.

Some seems very wrong to me.

With a single sub, anywhere away from the speaker, sure, maybe.
With my set-up, not even a little bit of localization. They sit 12" away from the bass drivers of the speakers, and there is a pair. How did your 15 PBK?
Any peaks it couldn't tame out in the higher frequencies?
I never said the 100's were bad, they are great, but there isn't much comparison to dual sub 12's placed in optimum spots in the room for bass.

I agree that with multiple subs you can raise the crossover without the adverse affects of localized bass when using a single sub. I'm in the process of selling my 100's which are going to be replaced with some S2 v3's and C3so I'm definitely going to need another sub. I'm just not sure whether to go with another Sub 15 or with something else, I've had thoughts of dual Sub 1's but not sure I want to drop that much cash on subs. Another thought I had was dual SVS SB13 Plus's but that my be a slight downgrade in output and extension from dual Sub 15's but a bit cheaper.

The 13's are very nice looking compared to a lot of the ID stuff, and I've heard nothing but good things about the output. Shame the paradigm subs are not getting reviewed much.
I have not yet heard anything above the sub 12's in Paradigm's line-up.
Ryan speaks highly of the 15, so a pair would have to be great.
