With knowledge of the mortar strike comes great responsibility though! Careful not to call a strike to kill 1 enemy and end up getting all your teammates.

I've never received any indication I've killed a teammate with the mortar and I know I've called in some close calls. I just assumed like everything else in the game there is no team damage. I could be wrong though.

You sure can kill yourself though so don't go running around the beacon.

I was once under the impression you could not kill teammates with your own grenades in KZ2. Figures out that was wrong fast when I accidentally team killed 3 guys at once.

Yeah i was having a bit of a private battle the other day, ignoring the rest of the objectives. i was ISA and i captured TSP closest to the Higs base, this enemy Tactician kept trying to take the TSP back but i kept killing him time and time again i just waited for him to come back, he send me a message he was pretty pissed off i spotted him coming across the open area so let the mortar go but much to his delight i killed myself too so i got another message from him calling me a noob

some people do see that as camping (in an area, as opposed to one spot). But, I'm not going to hate on you too bad because I can't say that I haven't done that myself (although, I'm usually the aggressor, not the defender) Plus, I believe we played some KZ2 together back in the day

It seems to me that people who complain about "camping" are really saying "hey, why won't you run around in the open so I can kill you more easily". The fact is, while you can hang out in one area/place as long as you want, unless people come right towards you, you're not gonna rack up alot of points that way. That said, it seems to me when ppl get mad at campers, its because they continue to go after the camper, knowing exactly where they are, yet still manager to get themselves killed. There are sound strategies to deal w/ those type of players, it's not the fault of the "camper" that you aren't utilizing them. Another strategy is to swallow your pride and find someone else to kill (its funny that you don't hear as much complaining over snipers, who more or less spend the entire game camping).

Nah thats not camping in the slightest I moved throughout a large area

Its interesting you bring camping up because i think Killzone Warzone incourages camping. If im a Tactician and my team needs a TSP to win the game and i know an enemy is trying to capture it what am i ment to do, ignore this, leave and let him capture it and posibley loose the match or hang around and defend it?

Well especially when somebody is playing a tactician who's special ability is to capture tactical spawning nodes. I would think it is acceptable to protect the node.

Now kneeling in the corner all game would be lame, but as stated above if somebody can't kill you knowing exactly where you are after several attempts they have more problems then your "camping."

definitely true, but that's not to say those tactics in particular aren't annoying There seems to be certain generally accepted principles that most players expect of others when playing online FPS games:

1) I'd much rather be killed in a face-to-face fight (or at least out in the open when one party isn't hiding)
2) It doesn't take as much skill to camp (in a spot or in an area - as better campers do). Take them out of their element, and they're much less effective (although some can still be quite good).
3) It's cowardly to hide in a corner waiting for people to run by so you can kill them and then go hide in another corner and wait for people to run by for more kills.

Sort of like in business... there are practices that are legal, but not necessarily "moral" (or seen as particularly noble).

And, of course Bagaera, no offense - I'm pretty sure I know your playstyle

Theres different kinds of "camping"

theres when a player hides in a corner waiting for enemys to run past

there is Spawn camping where one team is owning another and pushes them so far back to there base and doesnt let them leave, however this is just a natural progression when one team is a lot better than another

or sometimes especially in COD one team might hide up in a building the other team are forced to attack but the camping team have the map on lock down and just pick off the attackers

As mentioned above are snipers not just the ultimate campers?

All different effective tactics, annoying but effective

Are we all expected to just go on suicide runs take out as many people as we can before we die respawn and start again?

To some extent, but people expect them to be campers... which is why most won't complain about snipers. Also, they have limitations in that their guns aren't effective in corridors or tight areas where some of the more annoying camping happens.
