Did not expect a new trailer to wake up to! Looks great, I noticed the wind in one quick clip, very nice.

so far the only limited edition details revealed are a map pack of 4 maps from BF 2.

Hope there's more exclusive stuff coming with it. A kickass version like what Killzone 3 got would be awesome.

Though short, that was a good trailer. The graphics look amazing, despite being for PC. Hopefully the console versions will look just as good.

I dunno, we'll see. BC2 already looks noticeably worse on my PS3 VS. my PC even at the same resolution. BUT I never play it on PC so gameplay > graphics.

If they wrote custom engines for each console they could probably get close enough to fool most people without picking apart still shots. But fact is modern graphics cards have tons and tons of graphics horsepower to spare. The consoles are actually likely holding back the PC version, ultimately. Though it will still look awesome with the options cranked, as seen in the trailer.

That trailer looks awesome. BFBC3 is shaping up to be a great game! I've only recently dived into BFBC2's online but it's sooo addictive and fun to play, making me already look forward to BFBC3.

Just to be clear, this is not Bad Company 3. This game is Battlefield 3, a sequel to Battlefield 2, a PC-only game. We explain this in depth on page 4 of this thread.

Correct me if im wrong, but wasnt there a rehashed version of battlefield 2 released for consoles that added a campain?

Technically yes. You speak of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, but it was a bit different from BF2 on PC. Either way, the point remains that BF3 will follow the Battlefield series and not the Bad Company one.

Also, let's not forget that we are a mere five days away from a full-blown reveal of the game at GDC next Tuesday.

Oh, I have no doubt they'll look worse on consoles. I am just hoping against hope they'll be slightly less amazing than the PC.

the issue that concerns me most with the console version is that its still only 24 players. These maps are going to be designed and balanced around 64 players (hopefully a bit better than BF2, as that game was best with about 40 players).

I just don't see how they are going to keep the console versions paced well and feeling "full" without significantly drawing in the map size. We'll see I guess, but that is a HUGE fundamental difference that they have to some how account for and call it the same game.

I don't think this will be a problem, I know a few people who play BF2 and they've all commented on how big the maps are, but they still love the game, they just jump in the tanks and jeeps and head off to join the action, or spawn where there squad leader is.
