Today I received my shipment from Criterion but not all of it was there. I ordered Senso and America Lost and Found. There was no indication in the shipment summary that they were shipping separately, but I only received Senso in the package. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it because America Lost and Found is backordered not just out of stock? Anyone know?

Criterion just tweeted this video of Bill Hader in their video closet:
https://www.facebook.com/video/video...20564&comments

Interesting thing is it appears that he grabs a blu ray edition of Salo...

The blue sticker could also be just the warning sticker, as some are speculating.

He grabbed it from the SD-DVD "side" of the room.

Be careful what you wish for though. I went on a date with a woman who liked a lot of "good movies". We had about 80% overlap though. Unfortunately, the 20% we didn't share was more of an issue than the 90% I normally don't share with non-snobs. I know it sounds petty. I just wish I could think of specific examples of the 20% we disagreed on because it sure seemed significant at the time.

I sat out on the 50% sale because a.) I only wanted one currently available Blu-ray so wouldn't qualify for free shipping, b.) it was only 50% MSRP so not any better and (with coupons) potentially inferior to the B&N sale and c.) preorders weren't eligible.

I am going to be really pissed (and jealous) if the charge was really 50% off street value and preorders did qualify. I would appreciate it if you all would do what you can to satisfy this regret, even if it involves lying. Thanks.

Could be a clue as we know Criterion loves its clues.

if it makes you sleep any better tonight, I just received my order today and all the in-stock items I ordered were 19.99. That was what my card was charged a few days ago when it shipped. Now, as for my glutton of pre-orders that I placed, those still show up at 15.98 on the website with no cancellations yet....

Unfortunately, I think it was Hader just trying to be funny.

Which makes no sense to me as it undermines the design, but whatever.
Can you still purchase the old cover? Maybe I can stock up on the old cover and then sell them later as collectibles to fund my daughter's college tuition.

Yeah I got that today:

Hi there,

Thank you for your email and recent order!

We apologize for any confusion. Not to worry, your order has not been canceled. You most likely received an automatic message from our warehouse as several titles have gone out of stock during the course of our recent sale. After a short window of time, orders that have not been filled are automatically canceled on their end. However, we have record of all orders and will be re-posting them as soon as our warehouse receives items back in stock!

Most items should be back in our warehouse by next week. If for any reason, you would rather not wait for the films to come back in stock, please let me know and I'd be glad to assist you with cancellation of the order.

I hope this information is helpful! Please let me know if you have any more questions and thanks for supporting Criterion!

Best,

Karen

I was too late to order it, so I cannot actually speak from my own personal experience, but I would guess that they ran out and it'll be a bit before they get more in stock.

All right, purchased just my 3rd Criterion blu-ray, Army of Shadows for $26.70 from B&N after tax. Melville probably boasts my favorite cinematography of any director. I just love the way he uses space and silence in his films.

That would be fine but I would think I would at least get an email. All I ever got was a processing email after the initial order. Never even got one that said part of my order was being sent. I emailed them inquiring about the order. Hopefully I get some response.

It was to be 50% off MSRP, Preorders were not supposed to be included - just FYI (and verified w/ Jon)

I received America Lost and Found with my order, but I ordered pretty quick.

Inside the packaging, you should have a 'packing list' in the form of a UPS Label sized printout. I think it may even be a label. Anyway, look at the listing, it should have a 1 for items shipped if it was in there, a 0 if it is on backorder.
