I love playing as the medic when playing with people who pay attention. Usually after I revive someone a couple times they will stop mashing

Last I checked you cant "look around first" in this game. You have ZERO indication there are medics around unless you happen to be facing one when you fall... That is a big problem... |

Ya you can't, poor choice of wording. What I mean is I like people who are aware of their surroundings better. I know when I am downed I usually have a pretty good idea of who's around me and whether it's worth waiting or not (if I die in a spawn point I might as well bleed out and respawn).

What's the deal with the shattering glass trophy? I've played that section a few times taking quite a while to shoot everything I can see (even all the lights and computer-like screens that will shatter) and firing rockets into areas I can't see well and still haven't gotten that trophy.

I've been playing on and off today and it's a shame that what I feel at the end of it all is frustration, not satisfaction.
Maybe it was just an off day, the points were pretty small on all game modes, even on warzone games I didn't pick many up despite finishing in the top half of the scoreboard. At least I got the trophy for winning each game type. I think what I found irritating is that with the Engineer and Infiltrator their top primary weapons are both flawed; the LMG, even when your sights are red to show you're on target, still manages to miss and the Infiltrators burst firing machine gun never seems to fire enough in a round to kill anyone! With both classes I always use the second weapon choice as it's far more reliable. GG should bring back the regular trooper class and effectively let you create your own soldier by allowing him to choose any primary and secondary weapon; the downside being that he has no specific abilities, which I'd be fine with. Neither the Engineer or Infiltrator has a decent "down the sights" weapon. |

In R3 there are no specific "classes" with set roles. You upgrade your skills/abilities/weapons how you want to match your play style. ![]() |

Yeah, I didn't ping that trophy, either. Keep in mind there are a few panes of glass that you can knock over before you can shoot your weapon (the same scene from the tutorial.)

I noticed when I first started playing weeks ago that other players didn't know the medic had the ability to get back up. Lot of fun there, but it seems now people have gotten wise to it and shoot me a couple of extra times. ![]() |

I had missed all the ones on the upper levels at first but after trying to get this trophy a few times (and spending quite a while trying to get it), I did eventually start looking up. I thought I had all of them and yesterday shot everything that I thought might shatter but still missed the very top edges of those ones that are barely visible. I had even fired rockets into that area but I guess I missed them when doing so. Although, I might have missed one on the upper level on the other side of the room (I think on the side you're referring to) that kept me from getting it. I thought I had all those today and still didn't get the trophy but did another pass around the room looking up at the upper levels and noticed one that I had missed that was close to the wall on the upper level. Honestly, KZ2 was a great mix for me. You unlocked "skills" by using the class or an ability, and then you could ultimately mix them to create some great "classes" (ie a tac with boost was the ultimate, and then they made the requirement easier and made what was a very limited group almost everyone). I liked that if you put in the time with a class you got the reward for that class... Now KZ3 is "put in time with any class and reward yourself with any class" Marksman would be a HELL of a lot more balanced if you had to get 20 kills in 8 games with the BR to unlock the SR, and then do it again for that to unlock the AR... same for cloaked kills to unlock the cloak+ and again for the Cloak++. Put in work, get a reward. |

Played my first game last night in over 2 weeks and had a blast. I don't understand why people who just want kills play warzone. In my last game last night on frozen dam I was ISA, the other team was more bothered about camping at our spawn point than protecting the objective. I managed to get out of our spawn area get to the top of the map and plant two bombs. No one came and tried to defuse them. This gave my team a draw and I got first place

After a frustrating day playing I finished off with a couple of games last night which were much better. And now I know why the Marksman is so popular; it's not the cloak or the sniper rifle, it's the Sta51 gun. It's the best weapon in the whole game, I picked up more points in one game with this weapon than any other game I played yesterday.
It should really be available to all classes, but that brings us back to the "create your own class" argument that Guerilla dropped for some reason. I'd much rather have this weapon than any of the guns the Engineer and Infiltrator offer. I got a promotion last night which allowed me to unlock this gun and now I'm really irritated with myself for wasting five unlock points on the medic which could have gone on the Marksman. Ah well. C'mon GG; give KZ3 the features that made KZ2 such a compelling online game; server list, mixed classes and custom games. |

A lot of the skills don't seem to be very well thought out, in my opinion.
The Infiltrator class can be rendered useless if the other team is full of players that just pop a round or two of fire into anyone walking near or towards them. The only way the disguise skill could really be useful is in a match with friendly fire turned on. Then other players wouldn't be so ready to shoot or melee anyone near them. As someone else mentioned, the revive and self-revive can be pretty useless. The fact that you get back up looking the opposite direction leads more often to another death. And it really sucks that every time you go down it counts as an extra death. I had one match where I started off 9-2, and two different medics kept reviving me inside of a crossfire before I could hit X to respawn and dropped me to 9 - 11 before they stopped. The worst part about the situation is that they were just spamming revives on me for points, knowing full well that I would keep getting up and dying. The Tactician is too easily destroyed by a team playing 90% Marksman (which happens far too often.) If they have a few upgrades, they won't show up on my radar, and my skill becomes nearly worthless. Then there are the game's other crap issues. Bad lag, which leads to double-kills, late kills, "bullet curving" and the occasional near-retarded laggy melee battle. Horrid collision detection on certain parts of the environment. When I'm sniping and another sniper lines up in a position where they can shoot at me, but my bullets can't penetrate the "invisible barrier" they're standing behind, I usually just leave the match. Awful random match starting spawns. And terrible spawns once the match is underway. I'll admit, even I have abused the way the game will make multiple players keep re-spawning in and around the same location to either rack up multi-kill grenade frags, or put together a killstreak with the sniper rifle. This game has a lot of potential, but I find myself far too frustrated and distracted by all of the above mentioned issues to continually enjoy my playing time. Needs more class and weapon-balancing, and better lag control. Last edited by QuasidodoJr; 03-31-2011 at 07:58 PM. |
