Nothing will ever replace the joy of going to the cinema. Certainly the economics of Hollywood and the increasingly obnoxious person at the theater can diminish it, but it will never be replaced. A few years ago a huge 150mm screen theater closed in my city and an era ended, but the new digital screens with stadium seating has helped ease my pain. I do not typically like going to the theater away from home, as I do not know how good the theater is or how unruly the patrons are, but going to the movies will never be replaced by home theater (and my home theater is very nice).
