Why does it take so long to load disk?

I have the sony BDP-S500,and I timed it:For it to eject tray when turned off,it takes 54 seconds!54!To load up Fight club takes 5 minutes!Granted it is an old BD player,but think sony is some of the worst in that respect.

My new oppo takes under 5 secs to open tray,and discs load 4 times faster.But again there's a downside:won't play AVC encoded FOX releases

But use my sony for them.
