Yes the new codecs are simply much better than the lossy Dolby Digital and DTS.

DTS HD-MA and Dolby True HD will bring you a whole new experience although you would benefit of new surrounds, I don't think it will be of any rush to buy new ones.
Maybe next on your list should be a new sub but I'll leave it up to you.

They are 12 inches and wegh 69lbs each

I do like those and two would put me at $1000 shipped, question is how do they stand up to the Legends? Both are the same price after shipping.

One thing you will find is that Audyssey auto calibration will do wonders for your system and EQing. Then you will add the Lossless audio and i think you will be pleasantly happy.

Even better I did not see the 50$ discount by ordering 2. They are appering as BO, I would email ED for info I have read somewhere else that they might be discontinued.

I meant dual a5's vs dual legends. I think the legends look better but what will be the better setup and is the difference very noticeable or slightly noticeable?

The Epik looks very interesting too for 900$ but I have not heard them but they have very nice specs.

Yes Olivier, that is what I have in mind to upgrade next after the receiver is a sub. I've been monitoring with keen interest the latest posts in this thread on the subject. I'm not sure if I'll simply add to or replace what I currently have; that remains to be seen. Thanks for the helpful info guys.

awesome... thats a good budget, The Integra 40.X and 30.X are both within your price range, so you should be good with either... spring for the 40.3 if you can.

Good, I was tempted over the weekend to pick up a Marantz or Yammy online as they are having sales all over place in the 400 to 600 range, but I figure I would spend a little extra and get something worth the money.

I'm assuming you mean the A5s-300 (s meaning it's a sealed sub). Assuming this, having only heard an A3-300 and basically researching the other 2, I'd go with the dual A5s-300's from eD.

I've been reading a lot of bad stuff (check out the Epik forums on this site) about the Legend and it's amp. It may just be a small % of the amps going bad, but there's still some sort of issue going on specific to the Legends. Had the amp problem not been an issue, it would be a tough call to make between the Legends and the eD subs.

Having heard an A3-300 I think you'll be happy with an A5s-300.

Yea, they said they are waiting for the amps, which should come in soon.
