The Westinghouse does deinterlace 1080I correctly to give one true 1920X1080 resolution. If you do decide to go with the Westinghouse I would strongly recommend purchasing it at a retail store with a 30 day return policy. If I had to do it over again I would have never had my parents by the thing. At least on their 37” 1080P monitor changing inputs and unplugging does nothing. I can just sit there all day long and I still can not get HDCP devices to work. It is a shame because if this problem would be fixed it would be a great monitor for the average person.
One last important note: This Westinghouse is a monitor only. To watch local TV or cable you need a external HDTV tuner to get HDTV reception. That’s one of the reasons I bought my parents a D-VHS with ATSC tuner.
