My copy has also shipped, but I'm sure you'll receive yours first since I'm in the US, can you let us know the specs when you get it? Thanks

I only previewed the first 2 minutes. I might rent it later this week.

Good for you. I want to hear it that way it was developed when the film was made by the people who actually worked on the film. I have zero interest in listening to a mix made by some random tech decades later.

Well for you I hope Universal or FOX makes a lossless mono for you, I did sync up the mono track from the Collector's Edition DVD as well and burned a test BD with the new Blu-ray video with the CE DVD mono, and it is seriously lacking BIG TIME, to me it sounded like pure s**t! but I am happy for you that you do not like these new HD tracks, I can respect that, like I said, I know there are mono Fans here, and that is very cool, but I am definitely not one of them, I want to be enveloped in sound LOL

I understand where you're coming from, it's just that I'm a purist fan. I want to see and hear a film in the way the people who worked on it made it. It gives me a sense of perspective and how thing were done at that time. It also shows how much filmmaking has changed/advanced.

The new mixes would be easier to swallow if they brought back the original crew to do it, but that doesn't happen. It's always some tech who has no ties to the production and that that's why some new mixes tend to be problematic. You get reversed channels, improperly mixed dialog or in this case missing music.

Anyway, at lease we agree that Poledouris' score is incredible. I've been a film score fan my whole life and it's great to see when other people appreciate the music as well. I can't wait for the new Intrada discs.

What they should do when they restore these tracks in HD is let some "die hard" fans such as ourselves LOL sit in and help out on what needs to be heard and such, then I would not mind if it was, as you say, new tech guys, because then at least Fans would have a say

but we know that would never happen.

That is the runtime of the censored UK cut. Change the menu language of your player to French and it should come up as 02:10:31.

LOL, it is, we ALL are missing it, I really don't think certain Countries will have it while others not, Universal did the US release, and it is missing, FOX did all the rest, and it is missing.

Can you tell me if the box set contains separate movies or is it a digipak with just one case for both movies? The reason being I would like to know if it has the slipcover for Barbarian that was shown for the individual release

It contains 2 separate case for each movie. The first one doesn't have the slipcover like the individual release for your information.for 18.98€,it's a very good deal.

My copy arrived today. Just to confirm, it's two slim (US style) Blu-ray cases in a thin card outer box. Looks pretty good.

I'll check out the discs themselves later.

The fixed audio that vidjunkie has produced for the Fox BD of Conan the Barbarian is simply outstanding. There is the main movie track encoded in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS-HD MA 5.1 flavors, and an isolated score in DTS-HD MA 2.0. In my opinion, this is the best that is likely to be done, short of a studio releasing a fixed version. Do PM him for links if you are interested. You won't regret it.

Thank you very much Jeff, and thanks to your testing I fixed some things that slipped by me LOL, I am SUPER glad you are enjoying them, I worked very hard on trying to get these as perfect as I can, and I am very, very happy with the results, and the DTS-HD MA 2.0 Iso Score rocks

Now I can move onto my next Blu-ray that needs fixing LOL, Night of The Living Dead Forgotten Films version.

Forgive my total ignorance , but how do you play your new audio tracks along with the BD? Do you burn everything onto a new disc, or put both video and audio onto a hard drive, or what?

I know these are stupid questions, but I'm technologically very limited next to you guys!

I am not sure how Jeff is doing it but this is what I have done, I left the retail BD alone, and I re author a new Blu-ray movie only with my new DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio track as track #1(default) then track #2 is my DTS-HD MA 2.0 Iso Score, and finally for track #3 I have the Commentary, and I place all chapters the same as the retail BD as well, then burn a new Blu-ray and place it inside the case with the retail, then when I want to watch the extras I watch the retail, when I watch the movie, I watch my new Blu-ray.

hope that answered your question OH, and by the way, there is NOTHING stupid about questions like these, this kind of work can be a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it is very easy.
