Default Current Amazon BD/HD DVD sale observation

I know in the regular thread for this what I am about to say has been mentioned, but the comments I am looking for would likely hijack that thread, so I made a new one.

We have seen throughout this latest ~50% off sale on both formats that the blu-ray rankings have been above 40, while HD DVD has not been able to crack 150 (average rank of top 10 titles for both). What is more is that the big blu-ray title on the list, Spidey, is sitting in the top 10, while Transformers is languishing in the mid-100's. Seeing that this month is the "5th quarter," when people who just bought players are loading up on movies, what are forum members' thoughts on the following:

Even though BBuy is where the lion's share of hi-def movies are purchased, do you see this as an indication of market reaction to the Warner Bros' decision? If we remember when Amazon had a BOGO on WB titles on HD DVD the sales ranks reached the same levels as the did for the WB BOGO for blu-ray, but that happened before the WB announcement.

This would match with Bill Hunt's anecdotal evidence that SoCal area retailers saw a roughly 20:1 BD:HD sales advantage after WB's move to blu-ray exclusivity.

Discuss.
