You might be right, though. I mean the film is, after all, being preserved by the National Film Registry. Does anyone know if their print is the Original or Altered version, though?

I own all of the Star Wars Rifftrax. They're well worth the investment.

No thanks. I'm not going to waste my time watching these whiny fanboys crying and "trying" to be funny.

Lots of directors put out longer cuts of their movies. They can do that, since they made them. No one complains when they do that. The director/producer/writer of the star wars films feels that the original cuts are inferior to the new versions and those are the ones he wants to put out. This really isn't a big deal.

I pre-ordered in January. I'm not canceling anything.
How many times has an new cut completely replaced the original one as the "canonical" version of a film, especially when a very significant number of people thought it inferior?

The thing that bugs me about the changes is George never completes his damn movie. I never know what version is the last. If only he would say "I'm completely done making changes on Star Wars. What we have now is what will be there til the end of time" He just finds new things. Next he'll probably go back and re dub all of Alec G's lines with Ewan McGregor to better match the prequels. I hope he realizes the Vader no's are stupid like he realized Luke screaming like the Emperor was stupid too.

Just saying, man. These films, as great as they may be, just didn't make the same cultural impact Star Wars made in '77.

You're right, as a Film, it is leagues better. I am simply referring to how Star Wars has impacted not only lives, but the American Culture in general, and other cultures as well.

Some of those go far beyond anal it's not even funny. Most of the "Still Not Changed" stuff is nitpickery at it's best.
People really actually want that small bit that falls off C-3PO's arm fixed for the Blu-Ray? Or stuff that looks "fake"?

Wow... just wow.

So you say people should watch the Rifftrax on Inception to see supposed flaws the lesser of MST3K host (Mike...Joel was way better) thinks of the film. But you don't want to watch Redlettermedia's flaws? How do you know it's him crying and whinning and trying to be funny if you've never seen it? Is it because your afraid you may agree with him?

Even if chunks of the negative are missing or unusable (note that most of the non-SE live action shots are still the originals), there are at least two known sources for the complete, unfaded original film (other than what's in the National Film Registry, I don't know what they have): the color separations made in '77 specifically for long-term archival, and Lucas's personal dye transfer print. They might provide questionable quality but certainly better than any existing video version.

Simon Pegg is about as big a star wars nerd as they come. I would be more suprised if he wasn't ranting.

And I agree we should invite him here. He would probably come over here too. If he isn't already on here lol. Simon if your out there come join the rebellion.

I watched a few moments. The level of hammy overracting makes Harrison Ford's ANH performance seem subtle.

So why is it ok for us to whine about absolutely anything in a movie, but somebody that makes movies can't?

Especially a big SW nerd/fan like Pegg

What I'm saying is that the post says the list is from the above website, which re-directs to starwars.com

There's no way that list came from starwars.com
