Default Screen Going Bad?

Hey everyone! I have a 52" Sony XBR4 tv that I bought 4 years ago. Recently a straight line of pixels from top to bottom on the right side of the screen popped up/went bad. Every once in a while they go away, Im guessing they get stuck on the right colors or something. It is very annoying to me though, but still watchable. Is there anything to do to get rid of this or is it just a sign that the tv is going bad. Naturally it is not under warranty anymore. Should I pay to get it fixed or should I start saving for a new tv, which it probably wont be a Sony tv. I'm really liking the Samsung 3D LED's!! Anyways thanks for the help!!

Peace

Paul
