They'll play each other again in the SEC championship I believe so it'll be winner goes to the NC... I don't see why thats a problem given we saw such a close game compared to what the #3 team did against them.

No, Alabama and LSU are in the same division. SEC title game is LSU vs. Georgia. Alabama missed the conference title game but will still make the national title game. F'd up isn't it?

Ohhh ok...

Well thats fine (family ties to bama and all )

I'd rather they do the title game based on the top two ranked teams in the conference so if you beat bama and lsu, but weren't ranked as high you wouldn't be in the title game.


But yes if LSU doesn't make the title game its a hose job, but still they won because Bama has a s* kicker, its not like they blew them out and they could get in.

Yep. By virtue of Bama LOSING to LSU, their road to the MNCG is easier than LSU's.

They were leading 41-21 going into the 4th. How the hell do you lead by 3 TD's going into the last 15 minutes and still manage to not only lose but lose by 2 TD's? And it's not like they blew that massive lead because they were playing some great team that just started off slow. They were playing a mediocre 6-5 NC St. team.

Thats why I said he needs to go, its one thing for me to hate him and ask for his head if he was simply losing competitively, but this is nothing new and if you look at the scores of our games we've gone from maybe being a middle pack acc team (possible contender with good recruiting) to a laughing stock of not just the ACC, but D1.

The conference title games are loaded with mismatches.

SEC - LSU vs. Georgia - Georgia is ok, but I don't know anyone who thinks they have a legit chance of beating LSU. The 3 best teams in the SEC were all in the Western division this year.

Pac-12 - Oregon vs. UCLA - The Bruins are terrible. This is a 6-5 team that's only in the title game because USC is ineligible. Oregon is going to wipe the floor with them.

CUSA - Houston vs. Southern Miss - Conference USA is actually has some decent teams this season. Houston is undefeated and Southern Miss is 9-2. Still, Houston should beat up on Southern Miss big and make a BCS game.

ACC - Virginia Tech vs. Clemson - Not sure what to think here. Virginia Tech's only loss of the year was a 23-3 loss to Clemson earlier in the season. Clemson started off the season strong but haven't looked good in recent weeks.

Big Ten - Wisconsin vs. Michigan St. - I think both the Big Ten and NCAA breathed a sigh of relief when Penn St. lost to Wisconsin today, costing them a spot in the conf title game. This is really the only conference title game that really interests me. When these teams played earlier in the season Michigan St. won a 37-31 thriller on a final play hail mary. This one should be a great re-match.

This was easily the most maddening season to be a UCF fan.

Margins in wins - 62, 27, 10, 41, 17
Margins in losses - 7, 7, 21, 2, 7, 1, 7

Every game we won we won handily and 6 of our 7 losses were by a TD or less. And our points against was the lowest in CUSA. Even lower than undefeated Houston that's headed for a BCS game. With any luck at all we should have gone 8-4 or better. Our QB Jeff Godfrey was amazing in his freshman season, leading UCF to a conference title, national ranking and Liberty Bowl win over Georgia. This season as a Sophomore he flat-out sucked. Our whole offense sucked.

I can't believe the way South Carolina is pulling away from Clemson. I thought that would be one of the best games of the day. I guess that's a SEC defense for you.

Glad to see Stanford pounding Notre Dame. ND has always been my most hated college football team. I guess because they are constantly over ranked in the polls, especially pre-season polls and have made un-deserved BCS games in the past because of their name. Unfortunately I doubt Luck's performance today will matter. Seems like the fix is in and Richardson will win the Heisman. Oh well, we all know who will be the better NFL player.

I was watching the Clemson/South Carolina game last night, and one of the signs being held up in the crowd was rather amusing. It read: "Hide the cows and sheep, Clemson is in town!" I love the passion you see amongst the student sections in college football. It makes the sport so great.

And yet this terrible 6-6 UCLA teams gets to play in the Pac-12 title game over 10-2 USC because USC is on probation. Oregon is going to massacre UCLA in the conf title game.

Looks like this will be the scenarios for the national title game.

Most likely scenario: LSU beats Georgia - It will be LSU vs. Alabama for the national championship.

Alternate scenario #1: Georgia beats LSU, Oklahoma St. beats Oklahoma - Alabama vs. Oklahoma St. for the national title.

Alternate scenario #2: Georgia beats LSU, Oklahoma beats Oklahoma St., Virginia Tech beats Clemson - Alabama vs. Virginia Tech for the national title.

Alternate scenario #3: LSU, Oklahoma St., Virginia Tech all lose their conf title games - Hard to say. This would result in either Alabama vs. Stanford or Alabama vs. LSU (assuming LSU loses a close one to Georgia).

I seriously doubt LSU loses to Georgia so the alternate scenarios are unlikely.
