Question Lost Season 4; wait for the complete BD box set? Or watch the split season on ABC?

Besides the obvious better PQ and AQ considerations... in light of comments from the shows producers about being upset that ABC is going ahead and splitting Season 4 in two 8 episode halves (see below)... is anyone else considering waiting for the Blu-Ray box set?

P.S. I'm a huge fan of the show and I'm considering waiting even though i'm not sure if I will be able to resist temptation...even though I should...

Here are some comments from both the media and the producers of Lost about the unfortunate situation of the Lost Season 4 split:

Quote:
The original plan was to unveil the fourth season with 16 uninterrupted new episodes, which was why the show wasn’t due to return until February. But when it became clear the strike would linger a while, ABC decided to schedule eight of the new “Lost” episodes that have already been produced, much to the chagrin of “Lost” co-creator and executive producer Damon Lindelof.
Quote:
Damon Lindelof:

"Don't expect too much resolution before the series goes dark once again--the final episode, Lindelof said, will end in a cliffhanger that won't be resolved until the strike concludes. It's as much of a conclusion as, say, Ana-Lucia and Libby getting shot. An eight-episode season is an incomplete season, and I am not going to try to spin it any other way. I can't look the fans in the eye and tell them that we're executing the original plan anymore"

Quote:
Carlton Cuse:

Lost executive producer and writer Carlton Cuse, a guild negotiating committee member, supports the strike but worries about his series (LOST). The show's ratings fell when its season was split in two last year (Season 3).

Lost's fourth season will likely consist of only 8 episodes -- half of the intended 16. But one possibility that could occur is to hold the show completely, not airing any episodes until the 2008 - 2009 season. If the strike continues and no more episodes can be produced this season, Lost executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof think that's the way to go (holding the show off for a year).

Carlton Cuse when asked as to whether he'd want to see those episodes air without their intended second half ready, firmly said "No. We'd rather them hold it. It would be like reading half a novel." "I don't think putting eight episodes on and then stopping the season is an ideal way to watch the show," he says. "It will feel like buying a 'Harry Potter' book, reading half of it, and then having to put it down for many months," explains Cuse. "There is a cliffhanger at the end of the eighth episode. It will only be frustrating [for viewers] to have to step away from the show and not see the second half of the season." "While fans would be frustrated by the longer wait between seasons, it would ultimately be a bigger disservice to air only half a season"

"The first half of the season, like a good novel, sets all the events of the show in motion and the second half deals with the consequences," Cuse continued. "We're very proud of the first eight but it feels weird to have to stop literally mid-stream."
