Does anyone else feel like preordering or release day purchases are a waste of money?

Why would I purchase something, even cheap at discount that there is a chance I may never wish to see again?

I would rather pay $30 for a movie I will enjoy over and over again then $5 for something I hate and is just sitting on my shelf collecting dust.
