I have had many people where I work if something better than Blu-ray can be invented and I said it can but our generation won't be around to see it. The guy asked me what I meant and I told him the technology in Blu-ray is so far advanced that it will take a very very long time to even think of a way to improve it. Am I wrong about that? The way I'm starting to see it, if someone wants to see a more clear picture than 1080p, wouldn't they need an HDTV so big it wouldn't be worth it? To many consumers, can a more clear picture than 1080p be noticeable to the naked eye, or is full Blu-ray full 1080p the best it will be for a good 40-50 years? Is Blu-ray our generations improved video technology or will we be around to see it get even better?
