Default Playing HD/SD MPEG files on BD player from BD-RE data disk?

Playing HD/SD MPEG files on BD player from BD-RE data disk?

Has anybody tried to play HD/SD MPEG files on stand alone BD player (like Philips or Samsung) from BD-RE/R disk burned as data disk?

This is what I am talking about:

I got PS3. It can play HD/SD MPEG files from BD-RE disk burned as data disk.

HD MPEG files are:

1. HDV .M2T files (1440x1080i with MPEG audio). Plays great.
2. HDTV .TS files (1920x1080i/p with DD audio, captured from Comcast DVR). There is an issue.

The issue with HDTV .TS files is that they have to be converted to HD Program Stream files with .MPG extension in order to get audio. And still PS3 doesn't play DD 5.1 surround sound track, but downconverts it to DD 2/0 channels.

SD MPEG files are:

1. SD .MPG files (720x480 with DD audio). The same thing: PS3 doesn't play DD 5.1 surround sound track, but downconverts it to DD 2/0 channels.

So, my question is about other stand alones: can they play HD/SD MPEG files from BD-RE data disk?

Thanks.
