I am going to be sending in my non corrected version of Halloween II just as soon as I get my UHE mailer, and since Universal has already stated(in an email to me) that the packaging is identical, so I was wondering has anyone here created an alternate custom cover for the corrected version of Halloween II?

Thanks

These are simply amazing. I know this has probably been gone over before, but how do I go about getting these to print? I've visited your deviant art before, but I've never been able to get an actual file to print. Everything I've ever seen has been the simulation on a case.

Link to hi-res.

I think I like this the best out of any of them, even the "official" alternative cover from that webstore.

Only nitpick I have (which is very minimal) is the dot above the "i" doesn't have the same drop shadow/glow to it. But I didn't notice it until I opened up the file in photoshop and zoomed in to 100%. But yeah, the back is really great looking. Will definitely slap this on my case and put it on my shelf!

Also, general question about sizing.

I have an empty UK case I'm wanting to print a custom for. UK cases are slightly larger than US cases. Wondering what I should do. I took measurements and figured out I need about 5/16" more to make sure the spine fits and doesn't wrap around.

Thanks, and I see your point about the gradient in the 'i'. The gradient goes from the top of the group of title letters to the bottom, so it doesn't apply separately to the dot. You could touch it up in PSD if you like. I did fix the oversized 'www' on the Sony url; if you download the hi-res, it should all be the same size.

You ask the cover artist for a link or an email and they'll hook you up with a printable file.

You have Photoshop, then you're home free. Just print the cover from there and the dimensions should be exact. Just specify to print at 100%

No need for UndercoverXP if you have Photoshop. :-)

Actually it does, you just can't see it against his light colored jacket. Just like you can't really see it on the tip of the "i" either, but it's there.

Sarcasm noted - It's just that almost all the existing, official cover art is horrendous, and the movie was fairly popular, so it follows that a lot of people are going to want to replace the hideous art it comes with.

On that note, I fixed up everything that was pointed out, and have two different versions.

Let me know which one you like better! I promise I'll try to stop making drive covers now.

I love this one, would you move the "there are no clean getaways" to the bottom left and move "a film by Nicolas Wending Refn" to the left under the "D" in the title? That would make it perfect. And as a suggestion but not necessary, have changed the background color on the front to a a dark teal or navy just to see if the contrast works?

Looks fantastic, but I'm not sure if it's just me, but they look slightly lop-sided. The front cover section looks less wide than the back cover section.

While I work on trying to give "Lassiter" an appropriate 1930s feel, I decided to work on the Alistair MacLean foray into James Bond 007 territory, the 1971 spy thriller starring Anthony Hopkins as British Naval secret agent Philip Calvert - "When Eight Bells Toll".

Co-starring Jack Hawkins, Corin Redgrave, Nathalie Delon and Robert Morley, I once referred to the movie on another discussion board as the best James Bond novel that Ian Fleming never wrote. MacLean has his hero investigate the disappearance of gold bullion ships off the coast of Scotland. The movie is a lot less glamorous than the 007 movies, and more realistic and Hopkins' Calvert is a much tougher, grittier character than Sean Connery's James Bond.

Obviously the custom cover is a WIP.

Where do you find all these old poster art in decent enough quality to make covers? I'm sure I'm not the only curious one!

PS Thank you for NOT making yet another Drive cover. Ugh.
