Quickest Player outside a PS3

Hi,

I have a launch day 60gig PS3 as one of my Blu-ray players, and the other is a BDP-300..

Unfortunately, the BDP-300 is painfully too slow. Having to deal with the unresponsive controls and what seems ages upon ages startup is too much for me.. Especially when my games console fires up blu-rays a zillion times faster.

I'm on the latest firmware but I can't see it getting any better. This unit is a pile of ....... I'm going to sell it and get something else...

As it's in my hi-fi rack it needs to be a stand-alone, otherwise I'd bag another PS3... Therefore what is the best player out there, within a resonable price range that DOES NOT make you wait 5mins of frustration every time you want to kick back and watch a movie.
