Give us a darker, much more hard-science approach to plot (Negative Zone, anyone?), and the FF will be just fine.

The trailer better be good. The first two movies were mediocre at best. And with the last Marvel movies, well the first two were pretty bad. The movies need a more serious tone with some plot. I'm sure Chris Evans would prefer being known as Captain America over the Human Torch.
Geez, what is with you guys and the Batman syndrome? Not every comic book has to be dark and serious. I always thought Fantastic Four was one of those properties that works best being family friendly
[Show spoiler]aside from Sue getting stabbed in the last movie
. The BFF chemistry between Thing and Torch proves this. Hopefully, Fox will at least have the G*d damn courtesy to keep it that way.

I definitely don't have the Batman syndrome and I'll take the recent Marvel movies over the darker Batman movies. I'm looking for a more serious movie not dark. Neither FF movie had a good plot or clever humor. Marvel movies such as Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Spider-man & The Amazing Spider-man are good examples. Thor, Spider-man movies, and The Amazing Spider-Man were about as family friendly as the FF (except for the little ones).

All of the main characters in the Marvel movies have character and stand out as heroes in their own way. Thor (which is one Marvel movie I though would be way too hokey initially) has a great personality, good humor when it counts, and just cool IMO. Iron Man/Tony Stark has the coolest suit ever and his sarcasm can be very funny (although occasionally annoying), Captain America has a passion for doing the right thing and is a much more likeable character in the Avengers, The Raimi Spider-man is for the most part selfless and true hero and one for the kids too look up to (who can every forget "With great power comes great responsibility"), the Amazing Spider-man is a genius with a good heart learning to use his powers for good as he's still a teenager. And then there's the Human Torch, a good playboy before his power and a goofy one after. The Thing is about clobbering time, Reed was smart but the Stretch Armstrong dancer just doesn't really do it. At least for me there just wasn't any memorable moments in either movie. It was just mediocre to me.

Some terrible Jessica Alba pics were posted in this thread. I guess some people prefer skeletal looking pictures. There are easily thousands of better Jessica pics out there.

Hell, they did it to Spider-Man, and it worked absolutely wonderfully. Helped to "heal" the attitudes of many fans who were/are disapponted with Raimi's SM3, while bringing in younger/newer fans,as well.
Says who? You? A billion other viewers? I don't care; I loved 'em. (...well, I gotta admit, the second film did suck )

You're right about Spidey though, and maybe the same magic will happen to "FF" as well, I dunno.

I liked the first "F4" film, but the second was mostly garbage. I like the Silver Surfer character, and Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis were great together again...but everything else just didn't work. I mean, Reed's obsessed with his work to the point that he puts off marrying Sue, goes behind her back over the matter, and winds up letting Johnny con him into an impulsive party? He stands up to a General later in the film, but can't do the same with the woman he loves, or her brother?

Also, I think Jessica Alba was the wrong choice for Sue to begin with. She was tolerable in the first, but her attitude in the second was of a deceptive, manipulative, radical feminist; it really put me off.

As for the reboot, I'd really like to see Diane Kruger as Sue; she'd knock it out of the park. Michael Chiklis could be brought back, but I'd understand if Fox wants to replace him. I'm not sure about who could play a good Reed, and I'll really miss Chris' version of Johnny Storm.

It needs a reboot. They wasted Doom, Silver Surfer and Galactus.

I would have prefered a Silver Surfer origins movie.

There is from me! Always a huge fan of FF (much more than the Avengers) and was bitterly disappointed with the route they chose for the previous 2 films and even more disappointed in the way they turned out!

If any of the superhero groups deserves and needs a reboot it's this one, in-fact I'd have much preferred them to reboot this first than Spider-Man which had a very successful and mostly decent trilogy already whereas the two FF movies (bar a few good scenes) just failed to engage on almost all levels.

I loved the earlier movies. I don't care what anyone else says.

Give Marvel the rights back and let them run with it.

Personally I would like to see the entire cast back. However if they are going to cost a lot of money collectively, fuggetabouit.

Reed Richards - Brendan Fraser, Matthew Broderick, Matt LeBlanc
Susan Storm Richards - Diane Kruger, Julia Stiles, Monica Potter
Johnny Storm - Garrett Hedlund, Hayden Christensen, Anton Yelchin
Ben Grimm - Gerard Butler, Josh Brolin, Christian Slater

The only person you listed that could even get a read for the part is Kruger.

Taylor Lautner said at Comic Con he was going to talk to Josh Trank about a future project, could he be the new Johnny Storm?

By bringing in a director not named Tim Story the first of the top 2 priorities that needed attention was addressed. Now they need to make The Thing CGI. The costume was just plain silly. The Thing shouldn't be made of spongy foam.

I agree, it was the story and directing that needed to be better.

FF2 was closer to how I pictured FF, but still so much room for improvement.

Are you stuck in the 90's? lol. But honestly, none of them has a chance in hell
of ever being consider for those roles because of their status and credibility. Studios tends to pick relatively new and in-demand actors. So from your list, only Gerard Butler, Josh Brolin and Garrett Hedlund is a possibility.

On the same note, Diane Kruger would be a great choice as Sue Storm and Josh Brolin would be great as Ben Grimm.
