DVD’s are native 480i. Is your upscaling DVD player scaling to 480P, 720P, 1080i, or 1080P? Try setting your Blu-ray player to 480i or 480P. It might just be a handshaking issue between the Blu-ray player and the Samsung monitor. It sounds like you are getting no picture at all. The solution might be to purchase another brand of Blu-ray player that will not produce the same handshaking problems.

Also verify your Blu-ray player HDMI output is working by connecting it to another HDMI display.
