Default Disney Virtual Vault – What the eff is is and how the eff does it work?

In hope of getting some clearer and more honest answers than I'm likely to get from Disney themselves:
  • If I buy a USA version Blu-ray Disc, is possible to use it to access the Virtual Vault extras from within the UK?
  • For those who don't have a BD player that can connect to the internet itself (or at least nowhere on it to plug in an Ethernet cable), is there any way of accessing these extras you've paid for access to, for example viewing them on a computer? Other than the obvious one of illegally getting a rip of an earlier DVD edition…
I suspect from the unanimous dislike for this feature, which is the only aspect of it that's been clearly conveyed to me, that the answers aren't going to be in the positive but thought I should at least ask before going into a complete sulk.
