Default Bluray/DVD Combos

I don't know if another thread has been started or is fully dedicated to this topic and I apologize if thats the case but I'm really curious about this subject and people's feelings on it....

As I'm sure most Bluray owners know one of HD DVD's touted "featuers" was the whole "combo disc" thing.

Personally I NEVER got what was so special about it. And frankly I hated seeing those cases everytime I walked by their section in Best Buy or any other store. It just seems stupid to me and a waste of money.

In particular it seemed like it was one specific studio (I don't remember which one) that ALWAYS released its movies on these "combo discs".

My question is do you think that it would be a good idea for Bluray to do that? I personally hope they NEVER do that. I know that they've developed a way to do that but I personally hope its not utilized. It just seems like it would be holding back the process of moving from SD to HD.

Plus I want to pay money ONLY for HD movies...
