Displaying steelbooks: open or sealed?

So I finally got around to picking up some of those fossil stands on eBay and want to start lining the top of my media stands with the steelbooks I want to display. However, I'm having the hardest time bringing myself to open some of them. I really don't want to display them with all the "promotional" material on them, but there are certain ones (Iron Man 1 and 2 from Play.com, for example) that I feel like it's not in my best interest to open.

I have absolutely zero intentions of ever getting rid of any of them, but something in the back of my mind just doesn't want to let me depreciate their values just so I can unwrap them. Thoughts?
