The best placement I found was right behind my couch.. Sounds awesome, fills the room. Of course now I don't need my buttkicker either. What the XT32 did to that sub is simply short of amazing! The bass is deep and smooth now. XT never did that. Just can't believe the difference. What a great sub!

The quickest way is to use test tones and a SPL meter. This link explains this method. http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/blo...phase-easy-way If no test tones and/or no SPL meter you can still get the phase optimized. Play a variety of music you are familiar with and have someone SLOWLY turn the phase control on the subwoofer. At some point you should be able to hear the bass get a little louder. At its loudest point, you found the correct phase setting. Remember, if you move the sub----do it all over again. Think of the phase setting as a "time delay" of sorts. The idea is to get the bass from the subwoofer arriving "in time" with the bass from the main speakers. Tom V. Power Sound Audio |

Hi Purple, "cheapskate" = looking for best value. That is the best way to shop! We have increased the pricing but also included shipping( to lower 48). Not quite what I would call a 'sale" but it does save potential customers a bit. For example, the XV15 is $799 delivered now. Before it was $749 + shipping which would always be over $50....usually in the $55-80 range. So customers will typically save $5-30 on a single XV15 now. The new arrangement saves us time in several ways so it is a "win" for everyone. Regarding your specific needs, do you mind if I ask how large the room is and if there are any large openings into the room? Tom V. Power Sound Audio |

Hi Purple,
The Ultra 12 starts rolling off hard around 35hz. http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/s...iew_fullscreen The 505 around 40-45hz. http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...er-4-2005.html. I would guess combined(assuming their phase is optimized) the output in the mid and upper bass is fairly impressive. If you don't agree I'd experiment a little more with placement and phase settings to see if we can things improved a bit. Unless the room is unusually small I doubt you'll get much clean bass <30-32hz though. They are just not designed for that. It may also be tough to get both subs working really well together as one is sealed and one ported(and tuned a bit high for a HT sub). Tom V. Power Sound Audio |

![]() I've only seen a couple of graphs but the ones I saw contained good bass to 24-26hz and decent bass to 19-21hz. I, for one, would MUCH rather spend my time watching a quality film with "good" bass than a really poor film with bass down to 3hz anyway. IMO, if you are watching a film and constantly worried about the exact bass frequencies at each action sequence....you may be missing the intent of every artist involved in the making of the film.( losing yourself in the suspension of disbelief and getting emotional involved in the film on some level). Opinions will vary I'm sure. Tom V. Power Sound Audio |

I think he was referring to the blu-ray having some sort of cut off at 30hz. I did'nt know anything about it until I just read it in another topic, why would they cut off certain frequencies on a blu-ray?

I believe you would find a single XV15 to be a very audible upgrade----particularly <35hz. Don't hesitate to email me at support@powersoundaudio.com if you have any questions about our products Purple. Tom V. Power Sound Audio |
