Of course were only hearing half the story that's always the case, ill bet you somewhere in between what you and I have both heard is the truth as always. The crap refs should be replaced, but even the crap NFL refs are better then the BS we all saw last night and Im sure that's something everyone can agree on.

Disagree completely. A normal nfl referee would have stopped and explained that the kick couldn't be reviewed, the replacement official probably didn't even know the rule so he kept on going. People are blowing the "grabbed" him part way out of proportion, it's not like he assaulted the guy. I expect a fine but not in six figures like some have predicted.

Ed Reed will probably be fined more than Belichick.

Brandon Spikes will probably be fined as well.

I hope this gets resolved quickly, I can't stand watching these games. I expect that the first person Belichick talked to after the game was owner Robert Kraft. He probably said something along the lines of "<expletive> fix this <expletive> thing."

You don't grab the refs. That's like rule number one for ref-coach relations.

Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan might be getting a fine as well. He ran after the officials in the tunnel after the game and reportedly yelled "You have no f***ing balls, you r a f***ing p***y." The link has pictures of Shanahan running after the refs. The Redskins declined to comment on the report.

That's my understanding too. NFL wants a pool of refs waiting in the wings so that if there's any refs doing a terrible job they can be replaced at any time. It sounds like a reasonable concession to me but the refs won't accept it.

Revis Island Open for Business... Revis Done for 2012

Quote:

Revis diagnosed with torn ACL, done for 2012

Jets CB Darrelle Revis has been officially diagnosed with a torn left ACL, and is done for the reason.

It's a crushing blow for Revis, and potential death-knell for the 2-1 Jets' defense. Coach Rex Ryan's scheme is built entirely around the league's top cover corner, and will now be forced to go with shaky third-year pro Kyle Wilson opposite Antonio Cromartie. It will force the Jets to be more conservative on the back-end, further complicating efforts to jump-start a pass rush that's generated only three sacks in three games. Revis will be in a race against time to be ready for next summer's camp, but should be good to go for Week 1 2013 barring setbacks. A situation like this is why Revis mulled his second holdout in three years. Still only 27, however, Revis has an excellent shot at returning to his pre-injury form. He's signed for $3 million in 2013, and due a $3 million roster bonus.

Reggie Bush to be fine

Quote:

Reggie Bush's knee MRI comes back clean

The MRI on Reggie Bush's left knee revealed no structural damage and he has not been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Bush has dodged a bullet. This is the third injury to his left knee in the last five years, but it has the look of a mild sprain at worse. After getting the results of his exam, Bush tweeted "Received some great news today! Praise the Lord!" Consider Bush questionable for Sunday. Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller will share the load if he's out.

Hard for the refs to agree to the accountability system when untrained refs are currently running the show.

A player has a guaranteed suspension if he makes contact. Why should a coach be any different?

Coach isnt any different, hell get the same punishment if not worse then any player as coaches are held to higher standards. He will be suspended at least 1 game, not to mention the huge fine that will be incurred, this story is all over NFL.com so you know the league is looking into this now.

Belichick won't get suspended, he'll get fined. I could see the fine being anywhere from $25,000 to $100,000, but there's no way he's getting suspended.

Edit: From nfl.com

A league source tells NFL Network's Steve Wyche that the NFL only is looking at a possible fine for Belichick's illegal touching.

Not saying they don't disagree on money, but the point is that it's not worth discussing money when deeper issues are still being contested.

They can work out money issues. If all that was on the table was money they'd be done yesterday.

And yes, these replacement refs as a whole are bad. But there are probably some good refs in there, they are just drowned out by the bad.

A few of these guys are probably better than regular refs, there's just no way to know.

That's complete crap. I can't wait until the NFLPA goes after the league whenever a player gets a suspension for grabbing a ref.

CJ Spiller is only going to be out 1-2 games.

The Revis injury is a HUGE loss to the Jets. No way they can keep blitzing the way Rex likes to without Revis shutting down 1/3 of the field.
