Default Need some receiver help

Hey Blu-ray experts -

I am new to the forums and was looking to get some receiver help. I own a PS3 and that is what I mainly use as my blu-ray player. I just upgraded my receiver to a Pioneer VSX-91TXH. So far the sound is excellent, but I think my settings are off or I am doing something.

I purchased with me new receive Casino Royale. I popped it in and began the movie, looks great. However, I noticed that the sound was not splitting up properly or maybe it is, I just don't know. I had always understood that your center channel was mainly where the voices came from and the front speakers was where the other audio (music, sound effects) came from. That is simplistic but anyway. When watching the movie, I noticed that the voices was coming out of my center as well as my front speakers. And not like faint voices, loud. So I figured I have it set on the wrong setting or input or something. I currently have it so it auto selects the best audio source, but again is it the best? When I change it to direct or pure direct, the sound seems to change and the different audio parts are coming out of the different speakers, which is what I thought.

Anyone who knows what I need to set my receiver on to make the audio come out correctly? I am not an audio genious. This is only my second receiver and the other was an old Sony hand-me down.

Thanks.

D
