What a cheesy, gory movie! I don't think it's worth $30 but it's definitely fun. More like $5-$10. But I'll still buy it, and if I ever want my money back I can sell it for more than $30.

Definately happy this is finally coming out, but i wish it was a general release and not a $30, 3000 limited release from TT. Ive held off on buying from them so far as I don't really want to pay $30 for a movie and anything i would have wanted i have on dvd, unfortunately i dont own the blob 88 on dvd ( think i have the VHS somewhere) so looks like i'll have to shell out for this one as i really enjoy the film.

Ill pick this up for sure.

Its cheesy and I've always liked the gore in this film. Something about the gore always made me queesy with this film, can't wait to see it again

To be fair, they only ****ed up one title, and that was Sony not TT. It's not like they have a track record of crap or anything. But with Christine and The Blob coming from Sony, there is reason to be a bit nervous. Hopefully there wasn't any anniversary editions planned recently that would get a new color job!

Now the question is, as I haven't watched either in a while, are the current dvd versions of each film too bright or too colorful?

I'm in for both despite my feelings toward Sony.

TT did promise to let people know if something was altered from the previous version. I still need to see The Blob '88. It's not available on netflix streaming or the free amazon prime streaming and there are no rental places near me.

I had that poster on my wall in grade school! I also remember my Dad taking me to see it at the local sketchy cinema (right on the edge of the Combat Zone) when I was 10. He knew I was a big fan of the original, so he reluctantly agreed to take me, despite the R rating. At the first sign of gore, he stood up in a huff and told me we were leaving. I protested, and a voice from the back yelled, "Sit your white ass down!" He did, and we (or at least I) enjoyed the rest of the film.

Fantastic news! I love this, so it's day one order for me.

I actually only saw this last year. For some reason I managed to avoid it for 25 years, even though I remember having the rental cassette in my hands a few times in the local video store back in the 80s. I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got around the watch it on DVD. Such a fun movie with really great SFX.
