No particular order:
Braveheart (Best drama) Empire Strikes Back (Best sci fi) Raiders of the Ark (Best adventure) Return of the King (Best fantasy) Die Hard (Best action) That said I presently prefer: The Last Crusade (b/c of Connery) Live Free or Die Hard (b/c of the time update) Serenity (I don't jive with the Star Wars universe) Gladiator (greater number of amazing performances) When it comes to Lord of the Rings I like select moments from each (i.e. Boromir, Helms Deep, the charge) not any particular movie as a whole. I don't like gangster movies in the least bit so I can't really consider them good. The self love of their power annoys me when it's purely the restraint of the people and the police separating them from a magnificent slaughter. When the cops play the game with the same rulebook we call it police brutality, and only the people can prevent that. You put the top 5 gangsters of all time and their best men on one end of a street, put an equal number of Marines or even SWAT on the other, and just see what happens. Depends on what criteria one uses. For pure movie going experience I would say:
Jaws Raider of the Lost Ark Star Wars Jurassic Park Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Amadeus But others up there are: Rear Window Memento Fargo Groundhog Day Psycho (original) Goodbye Lenin Empire Strikes Back Back to the Future |

wow - Armageddon in top 5 all time....I must be living in a parallel universe or something. Seriously, if the topic was "worst 5 of all time" then maybe...
