The longer you've collected and the more you've paid, the more frustrated you are at seeing these re-releases with identical art. The collectors 'who feel strongly' are some of the long-time members here.

Change up the artwork and give us something decent and most everyone's happy. Iron Man (play) took the sting out of me not owning Iron Man (FS) which came out before I knew what a steelbook was. There was a lot of worry about what play would do with Iron Man when it was first announced. Star Trek is one of the most-sought-after titles that garners the same worries, and last year's AU Star Trek was a bit of a monkey turd to the relief of many, who are going to get stung a few months later thanks to Zavvi.

These events cause some collectors to lose interest, as has been voiced in other threads when this happens. If a few more people get the elusive cover, should I care? Not really.

It needs to be some type of collectible package, boutique label or limited run for me to buy it, and I don't know if that will change because I never collected movies in other formats. To a large extent I collect packaging of movies that are liked and I'll eventually get around to watching them. There's a lot more info available online now that leads me into so many so-called blind-buys, info that wasn't available when the earlier formats were all we had: blu-ray.com reviews, rotten tomatoes and online trailers. Before that it was Siskel and Ebert and the Sunday newspaper, and I did not go out to the movies very much. Still don't.
