i can't believe how appalling the artwork is for this, particularly the back cover. zavvi must think steelbook collectors are obsessed fools if they reckon they'll snap these up. ok, some steelbook collectors are obsessed fools but even so ....
Thank God someone else mentioned that! I thought I was going crazy on the steelbook forum with everyone saying how gorgeous they looked.

The front-covers are bad enough but the back artwork looks like George Lucas let his thirteen year old nephew paint it, as a favour. The artwork on the original release was just as poor. The mind boggles as to who let this pass.

Still waiting for huge discounted price drop; though now that the former pleb doesn't hold the reins the price will hopefully come down.

This is Fox's last release of these films while they hold the distribution rights for
I II III V and VI. The next time these films see a brand new release it'll be distributed by Disney. I don't think they'll ever drop massively.

Any release before 2020 will still be through Fox. So whilst this could be their final release I would assume that Lucasfilm/Disney will look to some sort of release to cross-promote at least Episodes VII and VIII before 2020.

Why would anyone want to own these movies on blu-ray considering how much more Lucas ruined them.

I will gladly prefer dvd versions over blu-ray here.

I totally agree, Lu****s-arse will have to have his grave hidden from the public. Due to people disrespecting it for how he has bastardized his creation against the wishes of the people who made him uber rich.

I won't buy the 6 films until they are £30, it may take sometime. But i'll wait]

I've said it time and time again, the personal attacks on George Lucas are, from my point of view, quite disturbing, considering that no matter how great they are (or were according to many) they are still just films. If you don't want to buy it fine, but don't assume everyone else thinks the same way you do, I certainly don't, but wish people could criticise the alterations in a more intellectual way rather than attack him personally.

+1. I remember seeing A New Hope on release in 1977 as a small kid (Im pretty sure it was the first film I saw in a cinema! ).

OK Lucas made some alterations but apart from the Han Solo/Jabba bit, I think theyre mostly for the better. I like the extra X-wing stuff on A New Hope for instance. Its funny to read people getting so worked up about this ("you ruined my childhood!" etc etc) though!

I certainly dont want to watch the 4:3 original DVD versions anymore - had a look once out of curiousity - just hideous. Went back to watching the 16:9 SE's straight away. Im looking forward to seeing them on blu at last (Ive waited long enough!)

It really is just coming from a small vocal minority. It is a pity though because it gives Star Wars fans in general a bad name and makes us look like crazy people.

Don't think this is Fox's last release. Amazon have already put placeholders up for the 3D releases.
