Must be only my state then...there's scads all over here, lol.

Regrets? No. I saw this 7 times in the theater. Plus, it's Batman. Never a regret.

It's like the Avengers light-up box set. Some stores have tons, some stores have none.

I've seen stores that still have between 30 to 50 TDKR steels on shelves and stores that have none at all.

For anyone wondering which to locations I'm talking about, it's the one near Yankee Stadium and the one on 62 st and Broadway.

All the stores around me (n of Atlanta) have 20 plus copies of TDKR. My local store had a bunch of ASM up until last week. But when I picked up ZDT they were all gone.

I actually still have yet to see this movie but i was able to pick up the steelbook. The only problem now is i don't think i will ever open it up for fear it will have a better resale value in the future. I unfortunately do this will all the steelbooks and special exclusives i own.

Do you guys buy steelbooks because you like collecting them or just because they can be rare and exclusive? It's like how can you be happy that no one else can get a copy.
i would prefer that a steelbook or any exclusive would be rare, and limited, cause to me that what is an exclusive is. an exclusive is supposed to be limited not always getting stock of it in
If it's something you want, that is why you do an in store pickup on it or get it the day it comes out.

for me to consider opening and watching being a mistake, I would say $200 is my price and since it will never reach there i am fine

I'm surprised that no one has posted that they bought two copies of the film (one SB and on Vortex so they won't open the SB version, then again, I find the keeping them sealed bit bizzare IMO).

After searching around since Tuesday, and even having Best Buy mess up a store pick up, I have bit the bullet and purchased one off of Ebay. It was $37.85 with 'buy now' option and includes free shipping. Only about 13 bucks more than I would have paid after tax, was I able to get one in the store. Anyway, the seller has 8 more copies left at the same price, if anybody is interested. http://www.ebay.com/itm/261188991166...84.m1497.l2649

Opening it is the only way you can find out if your copy is dented.

Yes,in the city we only have 2. However,There are other location's in Colma, San Bruno, Emeryville, which are all within 20 minutes driving time.
And those location's were sold out within a couple of hours. By early afternoon, all the Bay Area location's had sold out.
My BB usually get's at least 12 or more copies of a SB or Metal Pack.
The only other SB or Metal Pack to go this quick was "Finding Nemo",10 copies within 15 minutes of store opening

It's kinda hard to do that when all the copies are bought out by steelbook collectors. Why would someone need multiple copies? Only one answer makes sense to me.

I buy them mostly for the exclusive artwork. I figure for a couple more dollars why not have something that looks a little better on your shelf than plastic amaray case.

Mine too, not really a fan of the artwork either. If I ever do bite the bullet for these I will probably get the UK trilogy from Zavvi.

Your profile indicates that you are in Canada, and this was not released in Canada. Therefore, even if people limited themselves to 1 copy each, you would not have been able to get a copy anyway.

If you want someone to sell/trade you a copy, wouldn't it make more sense to ask nicely instead of lecturing us about getting multiples? After all, few people are going to give up their one copy...it's the ones with multiples that will sell/trade.
