Yes for the most part extended warranties are a huge waste especially regarding the reliability of sony game consoles! However if we were talking about microsoft equipment or lame software it would really be a good idea to atleast consider the investment into a good extended warranty. That's just my opinion though i'm sure others might have other thoughts about this, but for me I've still got a ps one & ps2 that still work like new and both were launch day purchases.
