As long as they are upfront about it and only charge half the price.

They're gonna look better than a regular SD master, because they are upconverted. So I think its better than having just a regular SD master on just a regular DVD.

And I do not think it is childish that people want movies on blu-ray. If eveyone thought the way you did, no offence, but then there would be no reason for any films to be put out on BLURAY at all...

I say this with all due respect, as Im genuinely not trying to start crap.

so, basically, why would we even have BLURAY if we are not allowed to want movies on the format? Might as well just stuck to dvds, right?...

this is the BLURAY forum...
This is the Bluray forum ? Oh I didnt know that, Oh Dopey me (just kidding)
I dont think it is childish to want movies on Blu Ray, but I think it is with the its blu ray or I wont buy it attitude.
As for Town having an SD upconvert to be released as a Blu Ray - it isnt really a true blu ray then is it ? Just an upconvert. But I just read that is it an HD master so there you go.
I have no problems wanting and prefering films in HD but if it cant be done I am perfectly fine with SD...and with a Blu Ray player they will get they upconvert look to them. To be honest seeing film on Blu Ray when done correctly looks better than anything I have ever seen and I understand the wants and all but if we cant have a movie in true HD what is wrong with settling for a DVD that will at least be upconverted through your player. And Id rather own a movie in any format if I like it enough to own. I wouldnt own 99% of the Godzilla movies with that blu ray or nothing attitude..or any of the Gamera movies, the Warner Archive movies, or all the Charlie Chan box sets , the Tombs of the Blind Dead Box Set or great genre titles like Them, Valley of Gwangi, Ghostkeeper & Noirs like Fallen Angel and Nightmare Alley. I own them on DVD because they arent on Blu Ray...and if they never wind up on HD, at least I have them to watch. Boy my shelves would be all nakey if I got rid of my movies that were on DVD only...
And I still own VHS tapes, but I know some of them are coming out on DVD and Blu Ray
No offense take, nor is it given here. Just an honest opinion from a die hard collector and lover of movies

In fact, Zachary, Blu-ray.com did not "jump the gun".

Currently, there is no "official" announcement that Schizoid will be a DVD-only release.

Sometimes information travels too...fast.

Seeing as how I only have Halloween II, Halloween III & Death Valley, which titles do any of you recommend I pick up next? I'm def going to pick up all Scream Factory titles released thus far eventually but I'm looking at scooping up 2 possibly 3 right now. Big 80's horror fan just cant really decide between the 11 titles I'm missing ha

From Beyond, Phantasm II, Humanoids From the Deep, Forbidden World, Piranha, They Live..... basically most of them have been a welcome treat in my eyes.

Since you mentioned Halloween II and Death Valley, I assume you might be a slasher movie fan? In that case, I'd definitely go with The Burning, The Funhouse, and Terror Train. Maybe Deadly Blessing too.

But it depends what you're into.

I appreciate the feedback! Decided to splurge a little bit and placed an order for Phantasm II, Prison, Deadly Blessing, The Funhouse & Terror Train! Nothing like some Sharon Stone & old school Scream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis!

I'm not sure. I hope they offer a reversable sleeve that has that art, and some new artwork. Love having options at my disposal.
