King Kong and The Frighteners are Universal Studios titles, so they're exclusive to HD-DVD. I don't what power Mr. Jackson would have, but the rumor, if you haven't heard, is that only BD will get the extended cut since, in HD, it could not all fit on one dual-layer HD-DVD. I would think Peter Jackson would be okay w/ it going to BD, since people can get the full movie experience by having his version in HD on only one disc, but that's just my thought.
