Anybody else excited over this. Yes the original 1978 3 episode feature. I want it but it seems like a BB exclusive. This will motivate me to actually watch the series for the first time yeah?

Just looking at the new "4K scan" movies

Although these movies were scanned at 4K before being trimmed down they don't actually play back at a 4K res. I'm pretty sure that studios have been doing this for some time already so I don't think this is such big news. The only appealing thing is having the movies re encoded at higher bit rates and special metadata which is supposed to also give better colour.

Apparently Ghostbusters has been rescanned from original film sources, this should mean a better looking transfer at least for the contrast and colour scale from the previous edition!

Until I see some actual reviews from a good source I wouldn't go out and replace all of my titles but I will definitely be getting Ghostbusters!

Haha I thought they were Bluray's with Bluray 4k copies on (BD100 discs) inside, but even 4K remastered scans are nice, and with slipcovers. Like you, I'll wait for reviews. Haven't got ghostbusters yet so she be good.

I have also not bought Ghostbusters. Something about only buying the first 1 and not the second one in movie sagas delays me. It puts the movie at the back of my buy list. I will however buy it if it was a special release or something but only for collectors purposes, not for the movie alone

^ Much better than the old one.

Wonder when we'll get "Strangers On A Train".

High Def Digest have reviewed Ghostbusters 4k. Apparently better than the original release. Screenshot comparisons provided: http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/8989...usters_4k.html

It is a decent upgrade, I will definitely buy this version. The most impressive shots are with the smoke and stairs; it went from not being able to see them, to seeing them perfectly. Also the image where he is holding the bottle, you can now see bits of sky inbetween the clouds rather then an overblown patch of white contrast

Hi-def Digest aren't convinced it's a new scan:

"There is nothing that clearly indicates this presentation comes from a fresh master of the original camera negative instead of simply being another alleged "remaster." Whatever the case may be, this is definitely an upgrade over the last Blu-ray.

Best Buy are the only ones carrying it at the moment. Not sure of it's exclusivity. It's on eBay for around $30 delivered to us

Hmmm the screenshots show that it's framed differently, wouldn't that indicate it being a new scan?

The actual frames are slightly different though, they are not timed right. Only takes one frame to throw off the whole thing.

Even thought have them both from the US (OZ pre-ordered), I'm getting these both. OZ I can guarantee will have a j-card so no ratings logo. ZDT will have the logo but a bet its embossed. Cheers for the update and my wallet hates you
