Just looking at the new "4K scan" movies
Although these movies were scanned at 4K before being trimmed down they don't actually play back at a 4K res. I'm pretty sure that studios have been doing this for some time already so I don't think this is such big news. The only appealing thing is having the movies re encoded at higher bit rates and special metadata which is supposed to also give better colour. Apparently Ghostbusters has been rescanned from original film sources, this should mean a better looking transfer at least for the contrast and colour scale from the previous edition! Until I see some actual reviews from a good source I wouldn't go out and replace all of my titles but I will definitely be getting Ghostbusters! |

I have also not bought Ghostbusters. Something about only buying the first 1 and not the second one in movie sagas delays me. It puts the movie at the back of my buy list. I will however buy it if it was a special release or something but only for collectors purposes, not for the movie alone

Hi-def Digest aren't convinced it's a new scan:
"There is nothing that clearly indicates this presentation comes from a fresh master of the original camera negative instead of simply being another alleged "remaster." Whatever the case may be, this is definitely an upgrade over the last Blu-ray. |

Even thought have them both from the US (OZ pre-ordered), I'm getting these both. OZ I can guarantee will have a j-card so no ratings logo. ZDT will have the logo but a bet its embossed. Cheers for the update and my wallet hates you
