There is a discussion in the Home Theater Forum about headphones for nighttime enjoyment. The best that has been offered in that thread so far is the Pioneer SE-DIR800C. But that system is capable at most of Dolby Digital or DTS at maximum bit rate of 48 KHz via Optical Digital or Coaxial Digital input. Blu-ray format is capable of better than that.
A logical place to put surround processor for headphones is in the receiver/amplifier. Yamaha has it in what they call "SILENT CINEMA" flavor in their DSP-AZ1 unit. What else is available out there? |
