Default Pioneer Kuro Email

Text from an email I received from Pioneer:

A Decade of Flat-Panel Televisions.
A History of Revolution.

10 years. 1 goal.

To create emotions through the world of entertainment with the best picture possible.

For well over a decade now, our impassioned Pioneer engineers have dedicated themselves to our never ending quest of that solitary goal.

After 20 years of research, development, and constantly pushing the boundaries of conventional flat screen televisions, our engineers have come to be regarded as true experts in a class all their own.

Year after year we invented and reinvented. Created and recreated – each time succeeding ourselves in pursuit of perfection.

This continued pursuit has cultivated a myriad of ground-breaking display technologies. Since our debut of the world’s first high-definition 50” plasma television in 1997, we’ve made giant strides towards creating the best picture possible from a television.

Pioneer Televisions Then & NowBy developing unprecedented technologies like our Deep Encased Cell Structure (2001) to improve panel brightness, and creating our First Surface Pure Color Filter (2004) to both eliminate the need for a second layer of glass and reduce ambient reflections, we’ve made it a habit to raise the bar on what a great television should be.
In 2006, we introduced the first 50" 1080p plasma display and doubled the amount of pixels to over 2 million of the worlds smallest pixels. The result was a stunning picture with unmatched detail.

Pioneer celebrated its 10th year of flat-panel displays with the debut of the phenomenal KURO™ television. A completely redesigned flat-panel display, every aspect was rethought-- from the panel, processing and filters to new advanced features - once again exceeding industry standards by reproducing the deepest black levels ever seen.

Last year KURO succeeded in ushering in a new era of televisions. This year, the new line of KURO displays will continue this legacy.

After the quantum leaps Pioneer has introduced in flat-panel technology only a glimmer of time remains to see what the new KURO will hold -- be prepared.

seeing and hearing like never before
