Anyone heard anything to that rumor that DARK DEL will be doing a big cast signing for this??? If so I may go that route to get more Friday autographs.

Late last night a huge announcement was made about the documentary that has pleased many fans with the knowledge that the Crystal Lake Memories documentary will be offered in a Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack. Now, we have confirmed that there will be a signing event to commemorate the release of the definitive Friday The 13th documentary and we also have pricing information to boot.

The Crystal Lake Memories signing party will be held on Saturday August 24th 2013 at 2:00 PM at Dark Delicacies in Los Angeles, California. To attend the signing you must buy the documentary combo pack directly from the Dark Delicacies website, http://www.darkdel.com. This is a numbered event and when you order the documentary from Dark Delicacies you will be given your number for your place in line. So what's the price of the Friday The 13th documentary, you wonder? The retail is $29.99, so get ready to put that money aside when the Pre-sale hits the web on July 8th.

Keep an eye on the Dark Delicacies website for more information on the signing event to be posted in the near future. The list of Friday The 13th alumni who will be in attendance to sign has not been released as of yet, but we will let you know when that becomes available!

I still want to know how they expect to fit 7 hours at 1080p on one BD50. Or will it not be HD at all? Besides, I thought they had already made some confident statement about this being BD only, as DVD was a dying and outmoded format?

looks like a lot of people complained so they made it available on DVD. Now if you read the comments it's all people asking for a ducu on other horror series.

It sounds to me like it will be in SD....

With such a massive run time, Crystal Lake Memories will be released on Region Free Blu-Ray to offer the entire documentary on fewer discs which will make for a more enjoyable viewing experience.

A more enjoyable experience my ass, SD sucks! No two ways about it, it will look like Jaws: The Shark Is Still Working documentary which was horrendous! The only way it'll look good is if the bitrate is 7-10 MBS.

Are the majority of horror fans interested in this so damn poor they can't invest in Blu-ray, yet will pay $30 for a DVD?!

I'm not sure they've ever said it would be on just one Blu-ray Disc. I would expect two discs, at least.

They've announced it as a 3-DISC blu-ray/dvd combo. I'd imagine 1 blu-ray + 2 dvds unless they are getting that entire documentary on 1 DVD. If you pre-order through their website, you will get a 4th disc of exclusive material.

I'm actually excited for this Friday the 13th release.

I'm excited to see the material on Friday the 13th: The Series, my favorite show as a kid. Especilly since the DVDs were essentially barebones. Hopefully they got interviews with Robey & Chris Wiggins. I'm sure it's a given that they nabbed John LeMay for an interview since he's in Jason Goes to Hell.

Ooh, they got Jennifer Cooke? I don't remember seeing her name there. I'm really excited to hear from cast members we haven't heard from before in any of the bonus features or His Name was Jason.

I also hope they let people tell some stories about cast members who have passed away, like Laurie Bartram, Tom McBride, Mark Venturini and Susan Jennifer Sullivan...all of them with such memorable roles (Sullivan was the best thing about New Blood).

Years ago, I was able to track down an old VHS tape of the doc about McBride (Life and Death on the A List) but I haven't watched it yet.

In answer to some of the questions we have been receiving with respect to the upcoming release of CRYSTAL LAKE MEMORIES:

1. The running time of the feature documentary is approximately 7 hours (final running time has not been officially locked but that is a very close guesstimate).

2. The combo pack will contain a single Blu-ray disc containing the full documentary. The full documentary will also be included on two DVDs (split into two parts due to space limitations of the DVD format).

3. The bonus DVD (available exclusively via crystallakememories.net and the official launch event at Dark Delicacies) will contain approximately 4 hours of extended interviews and featurettes that were not included in the documentary.

4. All discs will be zone and region free and should be viewable on any Blu-ray or DVD player around the world.

5. International shipping will be available via crystallakememories.net; cost to be determined based on current shipping rates to individual countries.

6. Money orders will be accepted.

More details will be available once the official site launches for our pre-sale on July 8th.

Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and patience. We are looking forward to bringing you this epic look back at the legacy of Jason Voorhees and FRIDAY THE 13TH!

Yes they got Jennifer a while back, really shocked to see her there.
Melissa is my favorite thing about part 7 too
I think they did say they planned to tribute those that passed, some people in the doc have already passed (Danny Steinman, Richard Brooker)

And Thom Mathews!

(You and me seem to have perfectly aligned opinions...am I you?!)

So the wealth of information likely to be learned from the extended interviews from the bonus DVD, or for that matter the entire doc if it's SD only, isn't worth watching simply because it's not in HD?

I just can't understand that philosophy. Sure, I was hoping that this would be in HD. Since it's blu-ray, what else would we expect since it's a newly-filmed documentary?

But still, it's a documentary. When people complain that they won't watch it if it's not in HD, I just wonder if they're taken their entire DVD collection and tossed it out since blu-ray has come out? There's a wealth of tv series and films on DVD that likely will never see blu-ray for a variety of reasons - so to just disregard everything that isn't in HD nowadays is just silly.

Yes, I was expecting this to be in HD. If it isn't, I'm sure it will still be a great documentary regardless. I have lots of classic Doctor Who on DVD that will never see blu-ray since it was shot on video, but I'm not about to toss it all away just because it's not in HD.

I do find it interesting and a bit questionable though that even with the above details, it still hasn't been confirmed if the main doc will be in SD or HD on the blu-ray. I can't see how 7 hours of HD will fit on a single blu-ray without looking like crap. I agree that if it's SD only it will be disappointing. Still, the Psycho Legacy is SD only, no HD version, yet it's an incredible documentary with tons of awesome extras. It shouldn't be avoided just because it's SD only.

Not sure how good the interview with Cooke will be, as I have some friends in the know and they said she gave them a list of things she wouldn't talk about pre-interview. She's like the only final girl with an ego trip still to this day. Only one I have yet to meet as well!!!

Yeah, they did say there would be something to all the people that have passed. Jim Issac was also interviewed, one of the first, before he passed. Not sure if they ever got Ron Palilo before he passed last summer.

Kind of bummed they didn't nab Bacon or Glover. It's odd they can never seem to get the big stars to go back and talk about the films...as I have met both, and they were very cool signing my part 1 and part 4 posters and chatting about the films.
